All manufacturers will have some issues with some vehicles. It's due to the total number of units sold and probability.
Exactly correct!

.... Coming from a family of Japanese and German cars, ......I can't remember the last time anyone in my family has had to take their cars in for warranty work.......
Japanese cars, sure, very reliable.

German cars?? Forget about it. Very un-reliable. Very expensive to fix.

Your issues do not sound major. At least you did not have a slipping and shuddering automatic transmission like I had in my 2017 Camaro RS. That is not fixable. And the dealer service department even says the transmission "sucks". And you are waiting in line to try and get it fixed and the line is so long there is a waiting list with so many others with the same problem. Then you get it in and it takes a month to get the car back. This is my story regarding a Camaro and why I don't have it anymore. My 2018 GT is not perfect- it has the rattling and BBQ tick. My 2017 Fiesta ST has been bullet proof after a year. Never once had a single issue with Honda or Mazda vehicles- had a few used and new. Older German cars from the 80's were nice- easy to work on. The newer ones definitely not, not a fan of VW or BMW.

My 2016 M235 developed a rattle in the dash and the car was at the dealership for a total of almost two weeks while they replaced a ton of suspension parts on that area. Got the car back, rattle was still there. I've had plenty of dealership trips for small but obnoxious issues in my time with BMW and Mercedes. I don't believe they are in better overall from my experience.

Myself and my kids all have Honda/Acura... To the contrary they have been bulletproof with well over 100K miles..
So far my stang has only had the evap core replaced.. Other than that she is fine at 25K miles.
Well, when I owned my Accord it had over 100k miles and I was comparing it to similar vintage Fords that all had over 100k miles. I was driving all older, used vehicles. Not brand new. Of course a brand new vehicle won't be bad. It's when they get older that you really find out about quality.

Yes I had to perform work on the Fords, but it was easier and less expensive. And I have never had to replace a clutch, but the Accord clutch went out on me. And I have never had a Ford manual transmission break on me, but the Accord manual transmission broke. That was after I replaced the clutch (a terrible job to do on the Accord). I junked that POS at that point.

And the pop up headlights and air conditioning on that Accord never did work.

British cars are the most reliable, just look at the Reliant Robin - bullet proof

Yes, it must be reliable because the name says Reliant. So therefore they should be considered a go to car

Over 2 years in mine as a daily driver, starting its 3rd Canadian winter, and the only issues I've had were self-inflicted. Maybe I just got lucky. I can live with that.

I must commend all those that offered legit comments, but would like to know if you have special spectacles that automatically add spacing and punctuation.

Anyway, I couldn't be bothered to buy a pair if that's how you folks got to read that wall of text.

Some cars are Lemons or suffer from more issues than others but that is what warranties are for. Mine has been in the shop for warranty work more than our last 5 cars combined for small issues plus the AC issue. The Door latch recall, squealing PP brakes TSB, AC recharge and hose repair, and AC finally the evaporator replacement.

The AC issues are caused by a faulty evaporator from a supplier and covered under warranty. Mine has been in twice for the AC issues as have most 2015-2017 Mustangs.

I am fortunate to have great Ford service in my area and they gave me a loaner while the car was in the shop.

Never heard of the bumper issues before this thread on 2015-2017.

Going on 4 years of mechanically perfect powertrain performance with the 2.3 Turbo. Car looks and drives like new.

My '05 Mustang bought in '04 which I have molested the hell out of has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Nothing has gone wrong with it and I mean nothing. I'm sorry, 1 battery. My '15 which will be 4 years old this summer has been perfect for the most part. Never had a warranty repair or had to buy a single part. It's the luck of the draw friends.

I knock on wood every day... not a single issue with my 2018 after 14k miles... the only issue with my 2015 for 3 years before that was squealing brakes from the early batch that were quickly rectified by the dealer with new rotors. Overall very lucky I know, but very happy with the quality of my Ford Mustangs.

I've personally put hundreds of thousands of miles on Ford's and have only ever been back to the dealer for minor recalls. Never been left stranded or had anything that didn't work. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

OP, I’m sorry to hear of your woes. I just bought my Mustang a few years ago and if it’s anything like my Japanese, or even my Korean cars I will be EXTREMELY happy! My 2002 Accord had 212,000 miles on it without one issue before I gave it to my son. Kept up on the PM’s and replaced the timing belt at the century marks, that’s it. My 2008 Toyota FJ is still running like a tank with 105,000 miles on it. My wife’s 2011 Camry had 150,000 miles on it without issue before we gave that to my daughter. She loved that Camry so much she bought a 2018 XSE. My 2015 Veloster R Spec is on the low side with 52,000 miles on it without issue and it’s my other daughters now.

So either I’m extremely lucky or a little TLC goes a loooong way.

Little over 32k only issues is first year problems, backup cam and the taillight on startup. Yes it squeaks and rattles more than I would like but it's a trade off for what you get and the price you pay.
