Hello. I recently got my new to me car home and I noticed that when I shift its gears into the R position from D it would almost feel like a bad engine mount. I can feel the car/engine almost move and transmit that movement into the inside of the car. The car has 11k miles, so I doubt its a mount. Is this normal?

I’ve had the same problem on my Mach1, 10r80 since about 8000 miles. The knock/ thud progressively got worse. every time I come to a stop, especially when I put it in reverse. I was having transmission issues so Ford replaced it at 32000, I feel like it’s gotten worse. I definitely think you’re spot on with it having to deal with the transmission. I’ve heard it could be transmission linkage. I’ve also heard it could be driveshaft needing to be greased. There’s lots of people experiencing this issue but no one has resolved it. The dark horse also has this same problem so that means Ford has no idea how to fix it. Or just doesn’t care 97 recalls this year alone… it doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the vehicle, but I need to bring my car in whenever they have a fix for my fuel pump recall I’ll see if they could fix the knock. more information on Mustang 7G about this issue. Hopefully that helps.

Ps if that doesn’t sound like your issue then could be similar to my 2018 eco auto and my friends 2019 gt auto when you put it into drive or reverse. The car would lower like, you could see it from the outside of the car would shake, feel like it was getting into some transformer mode.. that means that maybe transmission is gonna need to be replaced. There’s a piece that breaks off maybe valve body. I’ll look for the paper tomorrow. and then eats the transmission. They fixed it in the later years. Not sure when.
