Yeah they were announced a week ago I think, they cost less than most manual clutches too. Hopefully we start to see companies release a billet planetary and shaft soon as well, I don't want to tear the trans apart more than once

I wasn't aware that anyone has had a problem with the input or intermediate shaft like they did on the 6R80. Maybe that will happen at the 1200 rwhp level lol.

I haven't see anything yet either, but if the trans is coming apart, might as well replace all the internals once, then do it later when they break. It could also be that the clutches start to slip, which has been saving the other parts, but with stronger clutches you will now be breaking the next weakest link instead of slipping clutches

Im on the fence about doing just the clutches and steel, I dont really feel like pulling this 250lb trans multiple times as things break. Rather wait for better internals and do it in one shot. Can't even get a converter easily yet either.....

Exactly Id forsure consider it once Circle D releases the converters

I heard a rumor that Circle D doesn't have cores for the 10R80 converters. I heard if you send them a stock converter they will re-stall it. Give them a call.

10R80 is a 10R80 I find that hard to believe when the Mustang isnt the only vehicle using this transmission its in the Raptor lots of F150s Expeditions Ect. Plus GM is using it too in the ZL1 Camaro.

Id find it very hard to believe Circle D cant get a core that fits.

Only car I know of for sure testing prototype converters is the silver Steeda NA Drag car. Im sure there are others though too.

here ya go guys

https://www.teambeefcakeracing.com/mcleod-88098.html

we've already been inside the trans a couple times, and got a set of preproduction to play with fitment. we helped with all the testing and development of the 6r80, and are getting ready to release 4 different levels of transmission builds for it. and expect to be at the forefront of the 10r80 as well.

The GM version is the 10L80. Are you sure it's identical to the Ford 10R80. I Doubt it. Probably different crank pilot size, and fly wheel bolt circle. Length could be different too.

I could be wrong but I know the 10 speed was jointly developed and IIRC only major difference is software not hardware between the 2.

Dunno. Id love to get my hands on a rebuild manual for both.
