Just checked mine too as it's on a lift at the dealership. No crack. Interesting though that the hole is drilled to the point of almost going all the way through.

That is just left over from casting. All normal. No crack, good to go
Really, my failure is a fluke, a very rare anomaly. I wonder what are the odds of having two bad engine??? LOL

Escaleted case with Ford Customer Service

My dealer service rep told me that the pictures where sent to ford for review. I was also told by my service rep that the crack does "not pose any concern for the engine" :doh:. Either way I called Ford (They had no clue!) and my case has been escalated. It may be a while before you here from me again on this case. Hopefully by then it may be with a new VIN and even better if it where an R.

If there truly "isnt a corncern to the engine" then why should ford do anything at this time? I believe ive been told as long as there is no failure then its not a warranty issue.

I'm so sorry to see this after you have already had your original engine replaced. I agree with the other person that said dump it. Life is too short to be fighting all these issues on a 65k car. Best of luck to you!

I was planing to moving on to something else. I am in the process of an R order and will have to see how this plays out. Who knows! I may just move on. NAH! Who am I kidding!!!! I really dig this car.

LOL, there really isn't anything to compare this car to is there? My mechanic couldn't believe I went to a gt350 from the rcf, I will have to take him for a ride.

It's a manufacture's defect and under warrantee. Apperently they're not concerned it will immediately throw a rod and burst into flames.

Just my guess as to what that means.

There is a warranty for 36000 or 3 years. Until something actually goes wrong why should Ford fix it? He is able to drive the car with not problem. If it lasts 36000/3yrs then that's all that is expected. Right?

This warranty does not mean that each Ford vehicle is defect free. Defects may be unintentionally introduced into vehicles during the design and manufacturing processes and such defects could result in the need for repairs. For this reason, Ford provides the New Vehicle Limited Warranty in order to remedy any such defects that result in vehicle part malfunction or failure during the warranty period."

You are hanging on by a thread lemers. The service rep is the sole individual who said the crack does "not pose any concern for the engine", he is not a Ford power train engineer an is not qualified to make that distinction. This is why Ford is handling it now.
