FYI, the 2011-2012 S197 Mustang GTs had the same feature (called "skip shift"). It was eliminated beginning with the 2013s.

Yep. CAGS. Computer Aided Gear Selection (iirc). Could turn it off (on 'vettes) with a resistor or a $20 insert (10 cents of plaster, 2 cents of resistor).
