Please chime-in if you have a 10-speed automatic or have direct knowledge about this issue. Any "whining" sounds? Low, moderate, loud? My brand-new 2023 has this "whining" sound at a moderate level. Sound is there in the morning, afternoon, evening, etc. Cold start, warm start, etc. Most noticeable in the lower gears. What do you know? What did you do? There is no way that this should be considered "normal"...

Yes, it does whine a bit. I wouldn’t say it’s moderate in volume but I can hear it with my windows down and the exhaust in quiet or normal. It’s a characteristic of the trans.

If it’s loud, have your dealer check the trans fluid level. My trans fluid was a little more than a quart low (many others here had a similar issue) from factory. Was checked and filled at the dealership. Doesn’t take the whine away but it might quiet it down if it is indeed low.

Thanks for your response! It's already been two two different Ford dealerships. They've taken it for test drives, checked the fluid, etc. Tranny shifts fine and seems to be working properly except for that noise that is driving me nuts! My 2018 GT has the same transmission and NO whining at all..ever. Seems like the luck of the draw.

My 2018 does it, mainly when it’s hot and I’m at idle or slight above idle.

I don’t know when it started exactly, but i remember hearing it pre-covid so that would be 2019 or so. I would describe it as a whirring sound.
Yep. That's how mine sounds. I had a 2018 GT from 2018 until a few months ago. That GT did not make any sound at all. The brand-new GT has made the sounds since day #1.

My 2022 GT has the whining noise, my wife’s 2021 Expedition has the whining noise, my old 2020 F150 did, and my friends 2018 f150 has the same noise. It really is “normal”

It is a real PITA to check the fluid level. Are you SURE they checked it? Ask for pictures.

FYI, the Trans fluid dipstick is DIRECTLY adjacent to the exhaust, and the trans fluid has to be between, something like 879* to 880* or some sh!t.

The tech will most likely will be burnt and they don't like that. I pulled the stick on mine, at the Dealer, (yes I got burnt too) it was barely on the stick and needed two quarts. I saw a pic of the stick full.

Smooth as silk and quiet after that in just a short while.

I had asked that it be check before the oil change came back 2 quarts low so, I wasn't happy at the time I demanded they to do it, AGAIN.

Make them Prove their story.

Mine has whined since day one. Almost 10k miles so far on my 22 GT. My 18 f150 whined it's whole life til I traded it at 100k miles. Same exact sound. It really is normal.
