So... "no additional 50 years appearance package" means, basically, that I'm not going to be getting a VIN for several more months... I'm seriously considering going with just buying up a dealer stock model at this point.

Does anybody know if it's possible to search inventory nationwide by option selections?

If you received a VIN today, they will have the parts for your build on your scheduled build week which will be 11/3 or 11/10 according to this posted Monday by RisingForce:

more bad news... These will be VIN specific and dealer has to get the recall done before delivery. Lets hope there wont be no parts on backorder tough, cause would really suck if your Mustang is at dealer but you can not take delivery due to back order.

The constraints for scheduling week 44 aren't available yet, next shot at scheduling is 10/23.

I use the inventory page extensively to track Arizona bound cars. Best bet for quickly finding what you want is to use the build site and configure what you want and write down the price. The search tool lists inventory by price so you can use the price to narrow in on candidates. The range of the search appears to be around 150-200 miles based on the zip code entered so you'll have to change that for each region you want to check.

Jimmy I took about an hour a couple of weeks ago to search for my exact vehicle via the price method and typing in zip codes for every major town in all 50 states and couldn't find my exact match. I'd just have your dealer or another dealer try it for you. Ford's online search system is too slow and time consuming.

Jimmy, you have to select a dealer to get a list, but the extended inventory tab (which includes all cars from all dealers within range) appears to be centered around the zip code you entered and not the actual dealer.

But as Free Agent suggested, a dealer may be able to do the search quicker.

Jimmy,When you go to the mustang build and price just select the set up you want. A tab at the bottom says search inventory, when your local dealer inventory comes up there is a tab at the top that says show extended inventory click on that and it will bring up all the cars in the region. Pay attention at the bottom of the list because it will probably say show more.

Autotrader.com should work. When I was looking for new GT500's and ZL1's it located all new cars across the US.

So can anybody tell me exactly when they are supposed to start building retail 5.0 convertibles with auto? Is the 50 yr appearance pkg going to delay it more?
