I installed a QA1 Carbon Fiber drive shaft in my son's 2022 Mustang GT w/10R80 and we chased high speed harmonic vibration issues before going back to the OEM 2-piece drive shaft with the "sloppy" center support. The carbon fiber drive shaft was a work of art and perfectly balanced but there is a system vibration issue in certain S550 driveline combinations that can sometimes be challenging to isolate and my son's car turned out to be one of those rare examples we couldn't resolve to our satisfaction. We explained the system NVH details to QA1 and they were great about accepting the return and refund. (The system NVH issues went away with the factory phased 2-piece driveshaft.) I think GT500 carbon fiber drive shafts address system NVH concerns with expensive CV joints at both ends?
Can you please describe the conditions when the NVH occurred with the carbon shaft? I have a slight vibration with the stock shaft when the diff / driveline is not yet warmed up at the range between 30 to 40 mph. Winter tires turned out to be uneven so they added up to the vibration, and this speed range is most used while city driving, so it is annoying. I was aiming at a carbon shaft to eliminate this NVH, which although is minor, is driving me nuts. When the car warms up this vibration goes away or at least is barely noticeable in most cases, except for the winter tires which really turned to be faulty.
