I called Roush Performance. The guy that I spoke with was friendly and helpful. He said Roush tunes are conservative and he didn't expect any problems as long as the engine could cool between runs.

He reminded me that legally, Roush is not allowed to alter the factory top speed parameter. I will have to find software to allow a true max speed.

Todays oem engines run tight clearances for emissions and mpg. As things get hot they tighten even more till the rod overheats and gets tossed out the engine case. Long high rpm is hell on a stock engine not built for it.

The rods arent the weak link, the pistons are. Stock rods have held over 1k. It's always the pistons that break and send the rods to punch new windows in the block.

That being said I would run some meth on pulls like this, the water will keep the combustion chamber nice and cool.
