1/4 Mile Rain Try in or out

What will produce a quicker 1/4 mile time or no difference?
Rain tray. Leave it out or put it in?

manual says to keep it in, i havent seen a reason to keep it in for 1/4 mile. i took it out and left it out day 1

Logic tells me that under-hood pressures would be higher with the tray in. This would creat more wind resistance (drag). I’m not sure this would translate to a difference in the quarter mile, but I suspect you would get to 180 more quickly with the tray removed. Mine has been out since I received the car.

Mine was out since day 1. Now that I have run a 10.82 with it in, I will take it out and see what happens this Friday.

HK: I hope she's faster but if she is, it probably won't be but a wee bit faster. I suppose there are too many other factors that can vary from one day to another to say for certain.

I won't wager on this one but do keep us posted. :-) Many of us live vicariously through the experiences of gents like yourself. <grin>

I know DA, track conditions, tire pressure, driver error, etc. all play a role. To be somewhat more accurate, I should have it in one run, then remove it for the next run on the same night, same PSI, same lane, but I don't want to mess with carrying tools (I know one nut driver) in the trunk then having to put the rain tray and fasteners some where in the car when it is out. Not really a big deal, but something to deal with none the less.
