This is my review of a product called Pedal Commander.
I have it and it was worth the investment. I have an auto with 3.15 rear.
I put the shifter in S whenever I drive the car around town. In D the trans would shift to soon and lug the engine. The throttle response was terrible unless in S. In S mode, around town, it gets old with the downshifting with Roush AB and h pipe.
I found Pedal Commander by mistake using Google to search for Pedalmax. I called and talked to them and after doing research it was cheaper, had more adjustability and could be switched to other US based vehicles if I ever sold the mustang.
Well after playing with it. My car feels like I added 100hp when taking off. The gas pedal was very touchy. So much I found myself burning rubber taking off normal. I had to back it down to city mode -1. I tried sport mode and it was too much for daily driving. In each mode it can be programmed down or up 4 settings. You can do this while driving and feel/hear the difference.
I dive in D around town now and no more hunting/lugging in between gears. Not sure why it works. Don't care. It was worth a try with their money back guarantee.
I am not ready to tune my car with 3k miles and messing with my warranty. Dealers around here are not mod friendly. None of them. If I would have listened to all the naysayers who claim it is worthless and doesn't work(push pedal harder) I would have missed out on a great product. Fortunately I hate to follow the crowd and when somebody tells me it can't be done I will prove them wrong.
To all the people commenting on why it doesn't work PLEASE STOP! If you don't want it turn the page! This is a review from someone who has it and believes the average guy will love it.
I don't race my car. I do like going from stop light to stop light feeling like I have 400 hp. Before this product I felt like my car had about 200hp. My 08 Tahoe felt like it was faster. With PC it feels like a 400 hp car when taking off. I have owned a few supercharged vettes, blown bbc and a twin turbo997. I know power.
Please once again. I DON'T care about racing!!!! I like the stress relief it gives me when I hit the gas and the car throws you back into your seat as it breaks the tires loose.
Try it. It will cost you nothing if you don't like it. But you will. Believe me.
Pm me for me info.

I have some genuine interest in this device. I'll have to wait after tuning to see if it's really worth doing any further changes in throttle response.

My question would be...what would this do in a manual car? Anyone with a manual tried this device?

Glad you like it. That is a great garage.

Some constructive criticism: insert some paragraphs - very hard to read that big blob of text.

The tuner should be able to rework the throttle response to your liking. This device is really for those of us that don't want to void warranty just yet.

I've got the pedalmax on my manual, as do many many people. I think it's fantastic, really livens up the responsiveness. If I turn the knob down to 0, it's like I've added 3 passengers and their luggage haha, that's what it felt like without it.

If you want the closest feel to throttle by cable dont get this device. All it does is change the input vs output ratio. Basically the ecu sees 100 percent throttle before the gas pedal actually reaches the floor. If it takes you a long time to reach the floor with the gas pedal then this device is great for you.
Personally I think these devices are gimmicks and a huge rip off for what they actually do. These companies prey on peoples ignorance with false advertising. If you really want to sacrifice pedal travel and a 1to1 ratio it shouldn't cost you what they charge. This is a 40 dollar device.

I agree, but it's even that much better along with having a tune.:D

My biggest complaint about late model ponies is the damn e throttle lag I had in my S197 and S550.... even have it in my 13 Exploder. When I push the go pedal I want to go, I cant stand, what feels like, waiting for the computer to make up its damn mind.

Frankly the members on this board who think E throttle lag is a myth I cant really understand how they cant notice it themselves......

I went with Lund so the S550 is taken care of I might just try one of these in the Exploder......

False advertising, as in regards to who/what specifically?

"it shouldn't cost you what they charge".....lol, no doubt about it. The spoken mantra that applies to many aftermarket parts.

When I had the auto, the throttle response is pretty delayed due to the torque converter.
I can be in track mode about 3000-4000 rpm and punch the gas, the engine would response about 0.5 seconds later.

I don't think throttle input is an issue with 3.73 gears. I can see how it could be sluggish with 3.15.
I spin tires all the time in slow corners. I can feel the wheels spin and tires doing their best to hold on. Thank goodness these OEM Pirelli tires are quiet even when they're spinning, or I'd get pulled over all the time.

That is a good way to describe this device. It was like doing a 3.15 to 3.73 gear change. Wonder what it would be like on a real 3.73 rear. Probably have to put it in ECO mode.
