CTSC Update: Multimatic Motorsports will have two cars at Lime Rock this weekend

Multimatic Motorsports will have two GT350R-Cs at Lime Rock for the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge July 24-25. The guys on the team have been working extra-long days building a replacement for the totaled #15.

July 15, IMSA announced updates to its Specific Car Regulations, and the GT350R-Cs each will be carrying an additional 50 lbs. as a competition adjustment.

The live stream for the race at IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app is 9-11 a.m. Central Time, on Saturday, July 25. The rebroadcast on Fox Sports 1 will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, August 2. Note that these are new times, because the event originally was scheduled to include separate, 2-hour races for the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes. However, both races have been combined into a single 2-hour event for both classes, IMSA says, to improve the experience for both at-track and television audiences. :cheers:

Yes. Here is what IMSA's Technical Regulations say:

5-2 - Car Weight/Ballast

5-2.1
Minimum weight is less fuel and Driver, as raced.
5-2.2
Ballast must be carried in a ballast box (if installed) constructed of metal with a minimum thickness of .100 inch and must utilize the passenger seat mounts for anchoring. Box must fully enclose the ballast with a top that bolts in place. Ballast must be secured inside the ballast box.
5-2.3
Weights must be in solid form (no pellets) and weigh a minimum 5 lbs.
5-2.4
It is prohibited to add or remove weight or change to a lighter component during any on-track Session.
5-2.5
IMSA reserves the right to check weight at any time during an Event.
5-2.6
IMSA reserves the right to adjust minimum weights at any time.

That's ok cause I bet the 16 year old Austin is 50 lbs lighter then the Camaro choo choo train drivers. Lol.

If it's in that location, I doubt it's going to put much of a dent in their advantage. I'm expecting another strong weekend from them. Provided they don't have any issues with that #15 they've practically put together overnight! That's awesome work.

Not that 50 LBS is that much, but the fact that it happens so quickly sucks....Camaro guys, and Porsche guys complained no doubt..."we can't catch the GT350RC !! restrict them somehow, or we are not going to race" ...big babies ! :doh:
