Ford Racing Strut Tower Brace Kit M-20201-M

Apparently this doesn't work on the v6 without issues. The cowl part should work fine but the bar between the struts has clearance issues with the intake manifold. I'm wondering if a few washers on the mount bolts lifting up the bar a few mm would clear the IM but not hit the hood. IMO the cowl part does most of the work and the strut bar is more for looks so I am going to put on the cowl part at least. Just to order the cowl part (FR3Z-16K038-A) is 2/3rds the price of the kit so it seems wiser to just order the kit and try to make the strut bar work. Any other V6 owners try this?

Google M-20201-M. Lowest price I've seen is $180ish for the kit or $120 for just the cowl brace FR3Z-16K038-A.
