The locking lug bolts seem to seat taller than the other lug bolts. Is this normal?

Does anyone know what the thread size is? I'd like to get an aftermarket set and not pay Ford's ridiculous price.

It is, unfortunately, normal. I have PP wheels and did not want the supplied locking lug nut sticking out further than the other four lug nuts.

So, I ordered the black Gorilla locking lug nuts and replaced all of the lug nuts on each wheel. Each Gorilla locking lug nut requires the supplied "key" socket to install and remove. Now all of my lug nuts are black and each one is a lock. Good luck stealing my wheels, Mr. Thief.

Look at how tall they are. This is disappointing.

How much farther out are we talking about? Does anyone have a picture? I have a GT with the enhanced security package on the way, and I'd really rather not have to buy an addition set of wheel locks... But if it looks incredibly stupid, I might have to..

EDIT: You were one step ahead of me with the pic, thanks! That is disappointing... Why couldn't they get them to be the same height?

Do people still steal wheels? I thought they just took the entire car.

Ford moved to 14MM x 1.5 lug nuts for the 2015.

Yep, I never bothered to put mine on because of this. I tried one and laughed.

I went to Gorilla "The System" locks which are spline drive type lock and are lower profile. They also replace all 20 lug nuts, so they all match. I put the black ones on my PP car and they look good.

Not off hand, Google them. "Gorilla The System Locking Lug Nuts Black 14x150 20 piece" should work, if you want black ones. Otherwise they have chrome.

Yes, those are the short ones and will work. I think they are 1.4" OAL if I remember correctly, but they make ones that are 2" OAL as well for trucks/long lugs.

I've bought these lugs for my GTI and Golf R (after doing stud conversions), my C7 and now the Mustang but I always buy them from Amazon, Jegs, or Summit Racing.

They work well and look great.

Quote: Yes, they do... if you leave your car so it is accessible.

Wow, I didn't know. Sometime folks really get on your nerves.
