Is anyone else getting condensation in their headlights? I went and picked up my car last night from the dealer. It was raining all day yesterday and was very humid and cold outside (for Florida, 50 degrees). When I got home I noticed there was condensation inside both headlights. It dropped from around 75 degrees to 50 in about 2 hours.

I have the same problem since the first day I got it. I have not had the chance to take it to the dealer yet.

Is it normal to be doing this? I don't want to take it up there and waste mine and their time if it is normal for it to be doing it.

This is not normal. I thought this is why job 1 cars were being held at the plant for so long because this was one of the problems. The dealer should fix this.

Mine is a retail order and is definitely not job 1.

I posted pictures of my foglites this morning which they moved. I guess you aren't supposed to complain in the maiin forum.

Water collections and condensation IS NOT NORMAL

It is 2015 and you would expect for the $ people are forking out that these simple issues would not be there. However, in every manufacturing process, you will find some hiccups once product is put to the test in the real world. You need to warranty it and learn where it failed and fix for future customers.

Im sure it is 100% a warranty issue and it will be taken care of.

Got bad news for you guys. This WILL NOT be a warranty issue. I had this happen to my 2012 F150 when I took delivery and attempted to get the headlight fixed. My dealer attempted but FORD denied the claim. They said thins is NOT a warranty issue and does not qualify for a replacement.

I recently completed the paperwork for my 15' Stang and in the documentation for my extended warranty is clearly states it will not cover condensation of headlights or lights for that matter.

Go for it but don't hold your breath.

Jaime

It's not normal, those light pods are supposed to be sealed... maybe the gaskets at the connection areas are not sealed.... never had that problem with my truck... still all original parts on it

You said extended warranty. I would think the primary warranty should cover lights with water in them.

We will see what my dealer says. They will either fix them or they will get hell from me.

Not sure about the fog lights but I think the headlights are a vented system, and if the case, you will have some condensation.

Straight from the owners manual page 224,

CHANGING A BULB
Lamp Assembly Condensation
Exterior lamps have vents to
accommodate normal changes in pressure.
Condensation can be a natural occurrence
of this design. When moist air enters the
lamp assembly through the vents, there is
a possibility that condensation can occur
in cold temperatures. When normal
condensation occurs, a thin film of mist
can form on the interior of the lens. The
mist eventually clears and exits through
the vents during normal operation. Clearing
time may take as long as 48 hours under
dry weather conditions.
Examples of acceptable condensation are:
• Thin mist without streaks, drip marks
or droplets.
• Fine mist that covers less than 50% of
the lens.
Examples of unacceptable moisture are:
• Water puddle inside the lamp.
• Large water droplets, drip marks or
streaks on the interior of the lens.
If any of the above conditions of
unacceptable moisture are present,
contact an authorized.
