Damn. How tight were you tightening them down? You think it was install issue or defect?
I've installed probably 100 or more plugs in my life on at least 10 different engines and never ever seen this..

Check your spark plug socket, if the rubber inside is missing that's your cause

I have a couple newer spark plug sockets that use a magnet inside to hold the plug instead of rubber. They work sooo much better than the old ones!

The package of plugs likely got dropped where the tops of the plug took the hit. I've dropped a plug on concrete before and the top made contact and it left a crack exactly like that.

I had similar issues with the MSD 2 step on my Hellion car .
No more issues since I disconnected it .
