In 2003 the Mach1 was to be limited to just 7,500 the first year but they ended up building 9,652 due to demand.Pretty sure they'll build all the GT350, Bullitts, GT500 and, if it happens, Mach 1s they can.
The only real Limited Edition (as opposed to Special Edition) was the 50th Anniversary LE, which was limited to 1964 examples
If these special editions are going to be priced over 50K I suggest trying what I did in 2003 to get a Mach1. Be patient - wait. In 6 months (Nov 2003) I bought an 03 Mach1 for 5K under sticker from CarMax 'used' (700 miles on odometer). The dealers were sill wanting sticker for their cars. I still have the car.
