Buy a 2018 if you want brighter headlights - these LED low/high beams + the fogs are so frickin bright, I’m sure my 2018 can be seen from the moon on a clear night... LMAO!

I just put on the Diode Dynamics head lights. They are definitely brighter. Added their switch back at the same time and there is just so much light coming out of the front of this car now compared to what it used to be.
seriously they're even brighter? and not just a different color / kelvin? the spread not affected in any way right. I'd hate to have changes or hotspots in the throw which is pretty danged good IMO. just a little low. haha :D high beams are amazing.

These are D3S bulbs vs the stock D3R. All the R's (D1, D2, D3, D4, etc.) have an opaque covering that reduces the output by 300-400 lumens.

The S's don't have that cover so output 300-400 lumens more. The bulbs themselves are the same and don't actually produce more but just allow more light out.

Then of course you get the temperature difference. Since the bulbs are the same the spread stayed the same for me. But the spread is adjustable.

As received the lights on my 17 were the worst of any new car I’ve owned. They were adjusted way too low and the sharp cutoff of the low beams is not good when going up a hill. I adjusted mine way up and that helps but I wouldn’t get another car with HID’s.

The HL's on the wife's GT were to HIGH,, very easy to adjust lower,, right now, imo, they are some of the BEST HID's I have driven. possibly better than my G35, which have some dang good HL's! I am waiting on an 18.....

IS there any way at all to make the headlights brighter ? I know we have stock HIDs but they really don’t feel as bright as many of the other cars with HIDs
Easy, just buy 6000K replacements. That is what I did. It seems Ford used 4300K in my car, so I upgraded and it made the difference I was looking for.

Tho change them, I went through the tire well, Not fun, but better than any other way of changing them

My '13 F150 had great HID's. I was disappointed when I got my Mustang. I'm going to check adjustment.

Make sure they are aimed correctly. On the assembly line different people installed and adjusted these so they could be off. Make sure they are not too low.

Yeah, you get a day Mike is working headlights on the line, it's a real crapshoot (Ford company photo below ...)

Congratulations, you officially diminished the light output by switching over to 6000K. You actually downgraded.

And for the record, most OEMs use 4300K.

Not really, in this day of age Osram 66340 CBB are rated at 3400 lumens. Not only whiter then OEM 4300K, but higher on the lux meter as well, aka more output.

After raising the headlights slightly with an allen wrench, it made a big difference. I felt as if the beam aim was too low from the factory.
