I would imagine the track key is more useful on the GT350 to have the exhaust default to loud when you start the engine. People have been complaining about having to manually switching it to loud mode.

Best option would be a programmable track key. Set it to start up with your personal choices of traction, steering, driving mode, and exhaust mode if applicable.

Hopefully there are some high up ford guys in the forum

So question... how would the track key work... in the 2012-14's it was a physical key... you could have both on your key ring... but with this car...
If you have one key programmed as a MyKey and one as Admin and they are both in the car, the car defaults to Admin. My guess is it would be similar.

Wonder if they could make a key with 2 chips and a switch instead of having the valet key inside.

I reached out to Ford Performance for more info and here's the latest update on the TracKey. It will work a little different than previous years with the Boss 302. Couldn't get anything on the GT350 TracKey and more info on functionality will be released as we get closer.

Our 2015 Mustang GT calibration has been submitted to CARB for E.O. approval.

The 2015 Mustang GT TracKey is still in development.

Our 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang calibration is still in development.

We have a new way of delivering the calibration. It’s called ProCal 3. It has replaced our ProCal 2 setup. With Procal 3 you purchase a calibration from one of our Ford Performance dealers and we ship you a FP “Canelope” that plugs into the Mustang OBDII port and into a PC laptop. The owner will go online and download the calibration for their car.

It's something new and we’ve had good luck with it on our 2015-2016 Mustang GT Supercharger Calibrations.

I was close on giving up, then winter hit so the car is parked anyway. But if this stupid CAI isn't out by April I'll admit defeat and buy a Roush.

Ford, the 2016s are well into production!!!!!! :frusty:
Reiterated.

It seems like they've been "waiting" for CARB approval on the CAI for over TWO YEARS! When this thing finally gets released, if it's nothing more than a rebranded Roush CAI, Ford Performance ought to be #*@%ing embarrassed.
