why not?

the auto box would definitely give you faster pulls :)
I was really considering getting a fastback to get the manual, and keeping the price difference handy for supercharging...

But now an auto 'vert, my wife can drive it, it's more of a 'cruiser'...

I've read (at least one) company saying the blower doesn't give as much power on an auto (possibly on purpose so as to not blow the tranny?) so seems less worth the cash.

... and I'd be afraid of it ripping itself apart without the extra rigidity of the roof :)

The MT82 is still a rather shitty tranny. So I don't think you really made a bad choice.

PS: This is coming from a guy who has ordered (two) manual gt's.

Oops and nearly forgot I'll probably get a towbar!
Anyone else? I've seen an aftermarket one in the U.S. for about 200 plus postage.

you cant fit a towbar, well atleast not to the euro model which is what we are getting the same as.

it says in the manual "DO NOT TOW WITH THIS CAR"

from page 132 of the UK owners manual

"TOWING A TRAILER
WARNING
Your vehicle is not approved for
trailer towing. Never tow a trailer with
your vehicle."

so maybe a towbar for bikes is fine, or towing a boat, canoe, another car... so long as it is not on a trailer.

Aha! The wording of that is important IMHO.
It says not approved - the regulations and weight limitations for towing in the U.S. and UK are very different...

The weird thing is, the U.S. is much more strict because of lower speed limits while towing in UK (there's a bunch of links on the web), so I'm going with Ford didn't bother doing any testing/paperwork for it since they don't sell a factory tow bar and, really, who's going to tow with a Mustang anyway? :)

Have to wait and see what the AU manual says, but I bet it's going to echo the UK one...

what else are we going to use all that torque for? we don't have line lock, so maybe the torque is to be used for warming the tires...

Speaking of the UK owner's manual, have you guys managed to download it?
I can see it online, but when I latch my site downloader onto it, it just won't do it.

On the bottom right hand corner of your screen a number of blue symbols appear when you move your cursor down there. You will find one of the blue symbols is for printing the PDF file and another for downloading the PDF file to a spot on your C drive of your choice.

Ok, so if you search for a 2015 Mustang, you get two HTML options for viewing a manual, on them, no such luck...

Part of my job is "making websites", so I've been checking through the page source, and I can't even find a sniff of something that would let me download them.

BUT!
If you search for 2016 Mustang, you get one of the previous HTML options, AND a PDF option.

Choose the PDF and then it can be saved.

I just went to the United Kingdom site and down the bottom of that opening page , went to where the members post said "UK owners manual in PDF, opened it and a couple of posts down was
http://www.ford.co.uk/OwnerServices/...dModel=Mustang . I then opened up this address and was confronted with what you said above: HTML to the left and PDF to the right. etc, etc.
Ian.
