Good old K&N in the factory airbox. Installed when the car was brand new and recently cleaned and re-oiled for the 30K service. It was the dirtiest I have ever seen one at 30K, so I'll be inspecting at 10K intervals going forward.
Maybe there's something new or different or better, but I've used...
1. Another swing and miss with the grille. Do the designers even look at past models for inspiration?
2. The dashboard...it's not just the touch screens, the whole area is confused with no consistent theme. I realize they are trying to appeal to younger buyers with the touch screens, but they...
We did so with a 2006 Mustang that the owner wished to maintain a stock appearance. Cut both mufflers open from the top, gutted them, and welded the tops back on. It was louder, but not what I would call pleasant sounding. We suggested filling the cases with small racing mufflers or resonators...
My opinion, which is worth exactly what you paid for it lol, is that the carbon build up causes the packing to be harder if you will, and less absorbent. I think it causes the hot gasses to exit faster than they would if they were lingering in the muffler.
The increasing db level is due to the packing "carboning up" as opposed to disintegrating. Mine has 20K on it and it's louder noticeably from month to month. I used to own and operate a muffler shop and we cut up a lot of stuff postmortem just to see what was in there and how it was aging.
I...
I first experienced this when on my evening commute I would exit the interstate on to a divided highway with a traffic light about a mile or so away. I would pour the coals to it if the highway was relatively clear of traffic, then slow down for the traffic light.
Turns out it was the traction...
In the summer, the default setting for A/C is recirculate. 🙄 Yes, please recirculate the hot stale air in the cabin to cool the car off...Why would I want cooler, fresh, outside air?
You're absolutely correct about this. EVs, unless you're talking about hybrids, are nowhere near being adopted as quickly as the media would like everyone to think. There are major issues with: *Manufacturing capacity for batteries
*Range anxiety
*Infrastructure for charging while traveling...
I used to go by what I named The Rule of Civic.
1. You raced a Civic and won. Wow, big deal, you beat a Civic.
2. You raced a Civic and lost.
You idiot, you got beat by a Civic.
I don't race anyone any more. Let 'em wonder if I'm running a blower, turbo, laughing gas or whatever. They'll never...
I am using a cloth dash cover which at least limits the worst of it to the very bottom of the windshield. Also no dressings or anything other than a damp cloth to clean the top of the pad. I have learned not to use glass cleaner either, just a warm wet towel then dry it with fresh paper towels.
