  1. Air filters

Good old K&N in the factory airbox. Installed when the car was brand new and recently cleaned and re-oiled for the 30K service. It was the dirtiest I have ever seen one at 30K, so I'll be inspecting at 10K intervals going forward. Maybe there's something new or different or better, but I've used...
  2. What would prevent you from buying the S650?

    1. Another swing and miss with the grille. Do the designers even look at past models for inspiration? 2. The dashboard...it's not just the touch screens, the whole area is confused with no consistent theme. I realize they are trying to appeal to younger buyers with the touch screens, but they...
  3. What's inside 2018 GT mufflers?

We did so with a 2006 Mustang that the owner wished to maintain a stock appearance. Cut both mufflers open from the top, gutted them, and welded the tops back on. It was louder, but not what I would call pleasant sounding. We suggested filling the cases with small racing mufflers or resonators...
  4. What's inside 2018 GT mufflers?

My opinion, which is worth exactly what you paid for it lol, is that the carbon build up causes the packing to be harder if you will, and less absorbent. I think it causes the hot gasses to exit faster than they would if they were lingering in the muffler.
  5. What's inside 2018 GT mufflers?

The increasing db level is due to the packing "carboning up" as opposed to disintegrating. Mine has 20K on it and it's louder noticeably from month to month. I used to own and operate a muffler shop and we cut up a lot of stuff postmortem just to see what was in there and how it was aging. I...
  6. Burning rubber smell in cabin

I first experienced this when on my evening commute I would exit the interstate on to a divided highway with a traffic light about a mile or so away. I would pour the coals to it if the highway was relatively clear of traffic, then slow down for the traffic light. Turns out it was the traction...
  7. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Me too, along with the functionality of the stock vents. Sure, they took a minute to get used to but they're very adjustable.
  8. Name something on your Mustang that's working as designed and is really irritating.

In the summer, the default setting for A/C is recirculate. 🙄 Yes, please recirculate the hot stale air in the cabin to cool the car off...Why would I want cooler, fresh, outside air?
  9. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

You're absolutely correct about this. EVs, unless you're talking about hybrids, are nowhere near being adopted as quickly as the media would like everyone to think. There are major issues with: *Manufacturing capacity for batteries *Range anxiety *Infrastructure for charging while traveling...
  10. Show and Shine... Post your ride

    That color is spectacular!
  11. Any reason not to remove my surfboard sized engine cover on my 5.0?

No difference in noise since I clipped the wings on mine.
  12. Show and Shine... Post your ride

I'm using Aerolon Tech Shine to keep things deep and shiny. Also a Collonite fan.
  13. Tips on how to control yourself when people try to race you?

I used to go by what I named The Rule of Civic. 1. You raced a Civic and won. Wow, big deal, you beat a Civic. 2. You raced a Civic and lost. You idiot, you got beat by a Civic. I don't race anyone any more. Let 'em wonder if I'm running a blower, turbo, laughing gas or whatever. They'll never...
  14. Dash Gassing

I purchased the car new and it is only 20 months old.
  15. Dash Gassing

It's a 2020 with 16K. I had a Fusion Sport that did this too, but not as much. I expected it with that car, with a golf course sized dash...
  16. Dash Gassing

I am using a cloth dash cover which at least limits the worst of it to the very bottom of the windshield. Also no dressings or anything other than a damp cloth to clean the top of the pad. I have learned not to use glass cleaner either, just a warm wet towel then dry it with fresh paper towels.
  17. Dash Gassing

Does anyone know of a way to prevent the dash pad from gassing and fogging up the windshield when the outside temperature is above 75⁰ ?
  18. Ghost Cam

Thanks for your answer and I will contact LP when I'm ready to purchase.
  19. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

I used to think the same thing, but there are plenty of offerings for gen 2 engines.
