It's my understanding that the ACM (which houses the radio CD player etc...) has newer circuitry in it for the Sat stuff... my 2018 FFH would lose signal in one spot, and my 2020 MKZ does not lose it there...

I have an iPod Touch in my car, (Android for phone) and it never goes to the touch for Siri... but then I don't think I activated it there... it's just for music. So I would imagine as long as you don't activate Siri for it, it will not work.

Force it to fail... disable your wifi long enough for it to fail... I'm sure you have turn your car off and on again... so this should work... it needs to fail... 8)

When I went from my 2013 FFH (HD Radio), to my 2018 FFH (no HD), the 2018 lost the radio info on the right side (Hybrid display) , and now my 2020 MKZ-H has it back... so I wonder if it's an HD radio thing ... this might be wrong, as I had the dealer pull up a Fusion that had HD and it also did...

And of course... what maps version is it? 1-18 1-19?

DLed it, seemed to not take as long as it said (1 hour took 10 minutes) so I'm guessing it's corrupt... and yes it is... says it is over 5G in size, but gets an error when unziping it....

For Sync 2, 4 quadrent, the only thing you can do is have a custome background (3.xx I think allows for that), can't move or make any adjustments...

What version of IOS, and SYNC?

Yes, going the way that is unofficial is good... but as you said, any issues along the way and you brick your unit Ford won't help.... and going to 3.4 means not going back to 3.0 because it reformats the unit That all being said, I have yet to see any one tell of any issues, but that does not...

Also, remember that going from 1.0 to 3.0 is a huge leap... it might take much longer than the web site says... just leave it in there and take a long drive.... couple hours.... Maps are not included, that is a separate update and yes it will cost.... about 100-150 depending...

Not fully true.... I know someone that has an APIM from a 2016 that he put 3.4 on it.... so it can be done.... you might not get the same speed, or maybe some features but it works...

Yea, you'd think that they are all the same , but they are not... charging only, charging and data, like you know, makes a HUGE difference.... glad you got it working... now to get you on 3.0 8)

Might have to update your AA, or remove it and re-install it.... check all your settings on car and phone.... might have to enable it from either/both ends

The 3.0 APIM was formatted into partitions that 3.4 couldn't use effectively... so it looks like Ford just did a new format (i.e. Partitions) I'm told that the maps for 3.4 use multiple partitions, this is why it loads faster.... I wish I had Sirius/XM Sat to test that.... maybe when it's free...

If it's an APIM that is feature for feature, no programing needed.... but if it's not, then you will need to use Forscan Also, you might have to buy a GPS antenna as the one for the non-nav could be different....

I would double check the cable... if it's not from Apple, it might not work. If it is from Apple, test it in a computer and see if the computer sees it and charges it...
