3.3 is the current version for the 2019's some 2020's... some of the 2020's have 3.4
I don't think it's common knowledge of when 3.4 will be available... hoping soon
Sync 4 does mention that the 8" will be supported, but nothing about if it's 2021 and after, or will the 2019's that have 3.3 and...
Also, remember only 2018's and later get it for free, 2017's and earlier pay (if I remember right)
So a 2019 should get it for free... and yes, the ESN is not the modem ESN, it is the Electronic Serial Number for the APIM
3.3 to 3.4 does not load maps... that is a separate download and install. 1.18 is the latest, unless things have changed, it should be a free update via download , and cost if they send you a flash drive...
So you got the error when you tried to copy the files, or when it tried to do the update from the flash drive?
If it's when you did the update, sounds like you got the wrong install files....
For most vehicles before 2018 the flash drive should be a USB2.0 not 3.0 , some have been successful but you are better off with 2.0... (black not blue)
being it's 64G, I'm betting it's 3.0
an old 4 or 8 even 16 would be fine...
And ExFat or Fat32 for the format.
(edit for better spelling)
AFAIK, there was an update that hosed the navigation, making it as if it didn't have it when it does.
I seem to remember it was a hardware issue with the APIM, if it's underwarrenty they will replace it, or you pay to get it replaced (I would press them to do it for free anyways if it was a bug...
There are several out there, not sure about for the Mustangs.
The part numbers are not easly figured out, so if there is a list, I'm sure someone will post it...
Sometimes on car-part.com or some others, they will post the pic of the unit with the buttons showing, so you can tell then.
Yup, there is something about how the unzip utility built into the mac does that...
I have to create the SyncMyRide folder, then copy the needed files into it, and rename them...
THEN it works...

I find it very odd, that ALL of the reviews are Exactly the same words!!! Meaning they are just copy n pasting the same review under a different name... I'd guess it's one person doing that on their website.
Just as there was no way to change them in Sync 2. 8)
Technically there is a way to have them be in different places. Get the APIM that has Nav, and things will move.
The left is nav, etc... 8)
2016 units have been able to get 3.4, so I doubt it's more ram for the US market (EU tends to have more)
3.4 is a different formating for the 'drive'... this is why the tool was necessary ..
All that being said, I would think the 2019...2020 units are a faster CPU than the <2018's
I have a APIM from a 2019Mustang (not sure which one, long story) , and I can say that with 3.4 the mute does not pause, only mute
And yes, only late 2018's get 3.3 , Early ones only get 3.0, till ford figures out an easy way to do the conversion. 2016 to 2018's have been able to get to 3.4...
