Hey guys, I'm halfway through the Bilstein strut and shock upgrade and I've run into a question. How does the bumpstop/boot work?
The shaft of the strut is easily double the diameter, except at the top, where the boot and bumpstop can fit, but in the arrangement I've come up with, the boot gets...
So I broke my 3-4 shift fork. I was actually shifting with my fingertips when it broke, admittedly at 7k rpm, but by no means a destructive action in my opinion.
So, what am I in for? The car's at 33k miles, no mods except performance pack brakes.
I've got a set of GT350R springs en route to my house, and the Track shocks to match them are in backorder purgatory. If my impatience wins out. Which alternative shock would work out best? Bilstein B6? Steeda adjustables? Konis? Enkeis?
It's a daily driven car, but I'm trying to run with my...
Like a lot of the 18+ owners, my fuel pump is a rattly piece of garbage, but since it won't kill the car, Ford's not gonna fix it.
I'd resigned myself to hearing my neighbor telling me I had 10 rod knocks in my brand new car until I died.
Until I installed the Boomba trans mount. Weirdly, the...
My car's a daily driver in Illinois, and I'm doing the RLCA bearings. I have a feeling salt and snow is going to affect a spherical bearing a lot more than a chuck of rubber. Are these going to be a wear item? Does anybody have experience with this?
When I was a drag racer, I read Corky Bell's book called "Maximum Boost" which gave me an excellent understanding about the fundamentals of engine working and turbochargers.
Is there any similar book where I can learn the fundamentals of suspension tuning for cars?
I've got a set of 4 piston front calipers, Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors and Z26 pads, with stock lines for sale.
Pads and rotors have 1-2K miles on them, Calipers have ~15K I think (Can't remember exact numbers)
I'm in the far Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Not gonna ship them. It'd cost...
I track my car (18 base GT) a few times a year, and during the summer months, I ran into overheating problems. I added a PP radiator from Tasca, which was indeed thicker than the original piece, a reische 170 degree thermostat, and some water wetter. Expecting my problems were solved, I went...
The last open track day for my local track is this wednesday, and it's looking like a low of 35, high of 50 degrees for that day. Track temps would be a bit warmer. The only tires I have to run are the Michelin PS4S's. Obviously cooling will be less of an issue than usual, but do I risk damaging...
Hi guys, I've got a track day coming up wednesday and I'm going to be swapping pads before I go. I've got the powerstop trackday pads, as well as the stock PP pads on hand. Both need to be swapped in, so it's no extra work one way or the other.
What would you choose?
Has anybody used these tires on track? I think they'll be replacing my stock pirelli all seasons, but I want to make sure the heat from track driving won't blister or shred them.
I've gone through a lot of brake parts since I got my 2018 base GT, with the black accent package, which comes with 255/40/19 tires. and I figured some people might like to hear my thoughts on things.
Stock base GT stuff
My stock pads were totally destroyed by my first track day. I boiled the...
I did my first track day in my 2018 GT a few weeks ago, and as everybody has said, the stock brakes were not at all up to the task. Something I noticed on my car, and that a few members have mentioned is that brake fluid seems to be weeping out of the bolt holes that hold the two sides of the...
I'm curious what people are paying to have this done as a way to decide whether I should just man up and do it myself.
Also, if anybody has suggestions on a good shop to bring it to in the west suburbs of Chicago, I'm all ears.
Hey guys, I've got a 2018 6 speed 301a car that I plan on taking to the strip a lot. It'll probably never go out on drag radials or slicks (Probably).
How much do I need to worry about drivetrain breakage?
I saw on LMR they have the gt350 halfshafts for pretty cheap. Are those different/...
