In the past I've overheated enough on the track a time or two during HPDE events to go into limp mode. I'm curious if anyone knows exactly what and when triggers the limp mode - is it CHT at a certain temperature (if so what temperature?), something else, or what?
What a change from the old days... I have a torsen and don't want a friction modifier in my gear oil, and all I can find now has it already mixed in with the gear oil. Who makes synthetic gear oil nowadays without the friction modifier already mixed in it?
I need to tow my Mustang ( manual transmission) about 4 miles, and can keep it at 40 mph or slower. I know a tow dolly can harm the transmission, but would it be okay for just that short trip?
On a related note, if I disconnect the driveshaft I assume that I can use a tow dolly even for a tow...
My current build makes about 400 whp on a 100 octane tune using a first gen NX2 turbo; I am considering upgrading to the new NX2 gen 2 turbo. I have a very strong built shortblock installed 25k miles ago, supposedly good for something like 600 or 700hp, so am not worried about stressing it ...
After my last couple of HPDEs, one at Barber and one at Sebring, I am seriously considering upgrading to something like the FP 15" Brembo big brake kit like sold by Steeda and other places. I have 18" Apex EC-7 wheels which I understand to be able to fit these brakes without having to go to 19"...
When I hold my brake pedal down with pressure (like at a red light) it will slowly and gradually move down to the floor. If I pump it quickly and hard I can hear air hissing during each pump. There is no brake fluid leakage anywhere. I am assuming there is some sort of air piston that transfers...
My front bumper got torn away from the fender. The plastic tabs and 7mm bolt mount were destroyed, so there's no way to reconnect them together OEM style. I remember someone once posted here about a bracket that they either made or bought that can attach and reinforce the bumper/fender together...
I just swapped pads and noted that my (original!) piston boots are pretty much toast and assume the seals aren't far behind so I'd like to get it all changed out. OPMustang has seal kits so I thought I might replace them all myself, but have never done it before. I do note the photos on...
I have the regular GT brakes (not Brembo) on my EcoBoost and am trying to find titanium brake shims that fit my brakes. Does any company make those? I can only find them for Brembo/350 brakes.
I'm going to Barber this weekend for the first time and will be using my new Garmin Catalyst for the first time too. I'm a middlin' HPDE intermediate driver on an unfamiliar track... I expect the Catalyst will greatly help me. It will be interesting to compare lap times between my first couple...
I bought a set of Hankook R-S4s directly from Hankook Motorsports and when I checked the date code on them they read 2121. I'm a little bit miffed at the age of tires they sent me. These tires are 3 1/2 years old already. I got a great deal on them which is why I bought them from there, but now...
I'm going to the Jzilla Barberque HPDE event June 7th-8th. I just got their session schedule and each day has five 20 minute sessions plus a 40 minute "happy hour" open track at day's end.
Over two days that's a LOT of fuel I'm gonna burn. I see that there is an onsite fuel station but I assume...
It's an oval. All the drivers are high up against the outside wall on the turn exit and then drive down to the inside track for the straight just before veering back out again to the outside for the next turn. In a race like this, 100ths or even 1,000ths of a second can make a difference, and...
Their site only has this photo of the product. I can get an idea how they would look installed but would really like to see photos of a set installed. Has anyone put these on yet; and if so, could you please provide pics?
Thanks
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know what happened, but after receiving my car back from a shop that did some major work on it, the reverse sleeve (or whatever you call it) on the stalk of the shifter is loose, as if its inner diameter is larger than the shifter stalk outer diameter...

Does anyone know what the rear camber reading would be if one set it at the outermost end of the slot; and the reading when it is set at the innermost end of the slot?
I wonder if it would be an easy DIY adjustment to keep it at the outer limit for street, and then simply push all the way in...
