I wear pumas, usually something like a drift cat or whatever I've got at the time.
As far as pedal placement, a steeda pedal cover can help, plus put washers on the studs behind the pedal to bring it up.
So, this was resolved successfully. We are both out shipping, but lessons learned on both sides.
If anyone has a vehicle that these actually fit. I recommend buying them, as he has 6 new wheels to choose from and 8 good boxes to ship them in. He is a stand up guy after the facts came out...
The boxes did have two different kinds of tape on them. And the destroyed boxes were actually the brand new wheels, the better boxes had the crap wheels in them. It really looked like someone had put tires on them with a crap machine.
The two that were damaged were definately rash or from mounting tires, multiple spots around the rim. The boxes they came in were actually in better shape than the ones that looked completely new.
The hub size is different, and I know from a few experiences not to use hub adaptors at the track.
The wheels are for a 350Z or S2000 or the like.
They do NOT fit a mustang without hub rings, new studs and new lugnuts... And they came with a nice amount of curb rash.
They were closed out on tire rack, so they are no more. I just bought em, and I'll let you know on fitment once I get em, if you can find another set, or call tire rack directly.
BTW, the stock hood is entirely aluminum.
All the aftermarket hoods OTHER THAN the Cortex/Tiger racing ones are heavier. The 1700 Cortex/Tiger shaves only a few lbs.
