  1. Tracking the EcoBoost

My first track day with the eco was stock, 100% stock Performance pack. The pads died in about 3 laps. Second was with Xp-10's front, oil cooler, intercooler and exhaust. Rear pads died after one day. Lately, with not too many power mods, it does fairly well on all but the hottest days. It...
  2. Sock's Project 6G

Gonna run into a lot of air resistance with those flares
  3. Pittsburgh

We (Moon twp) don't have a markup, but good luck getting a shelby unless you order it. Got a focus RS on the showroom floor, but thats about it. If you need service, ask for Brad.
  4. Idle stutter

yea, seen more than a few wrecked evap systems because of that. and modern plastic tanks swell and one day go pop.
  5. Idle stutter

Could also be the evap system sending fuel vapor to the engine. full tank needs vapor purged, especially if you top off after the pump clicks off. (DONT)
  6. Where can I go to the track and what do I need to know?

So, being in maryland, I suggest you buy a good cheap helmet, Bell or something like that. Get with a PCA event at Dominion or VIR, they seem to have great instructors for beginners. NASA and SCCA instructors seem to be a crapshoot, sometimes they are awesome and care, other times, they are...
  7. After a year on track, what do I need for spares

What tracks are you going to that don't allow dogs? I haven't seen a S550 wheel bearing failure in person yet, and approx 12K track miles on mine, 32K total. Make sure your hub nuts are torqued to spec though.
  8. Brake Pads

Thats what I'm waiting on. Just pisses me off that ford said "hey. we'll make them... 3 minutes later, ah nevermind, NLA..."
  9. Brake Pads

I know I had the part numbers, and every cross reference I could find was NLA. I put the part number into ebay and got 2 results. Ordered both and got the rebuild kits, but no boots... May have to get a company to make some.
  10. Sock's Project 6G

Get new axle nuts any time those are off. Mine did the same thing. Left rear was coming loose on its own, even being torqued past spec, and even just city driving.
  11. Differential Fluid Change Question

Ford's 1 hr suggestion is for the OE fill. its then every 8 hrs of track time after that, or for me, every other weekend. Also, a live axle has to lubricate the shafts, hence the extra capacity...
  12. Sock's Project 6G

So the stock torsen gave up after 8K track miles? Ruh Roh! My 3.55 clutch type has just over 6K, lets see how long it holds up...
  13. Differential Fluid Change Question

Redline is always good stuff. just a bit pricey for something I change out so much.
  14. Differential Fluid Change Question

Yea, if you overfill, you'll get a bit of a mess at that first track day. I have two output seals to replace now...
  15. Where are your next events?

I'll be there. First event with these guys, so we'll see. Email's back and forth have been a bit of a let down so far, but I have high hopes.
  16. VTT Stage 2 Twin Scroll update thread

subbed. Shame I can't find more monies right now...
  17. "Rear Axle Differential Temp Increased, Decrease Speed" warning

I'm not talking about ignoring it. I am talking about preventing the limp mode. I for one change the fluid every other track day or so, sometimes after every one.
  18. EcoBoost... How much boost are you hittin?

Is it normal to sit at 12 psi or so, and creep to 22? on a stock tune... Had this lately, car hasn't been any slower (times) but it has felt slower...
  19. Why was I not warned?

Be careful... better tires will hide your better driver!
  20. How serious is the long left sweeping turns issue?

Fuel may be an issue, I just top off often to prevent. Oil, I run about a half quart over full and havent seen a drop in oil pressure. When it gets low I have seen a negative spike in some turns. I always attributed it to my oil cooler and running less than usual, but maybe its a thing?
