a 2013/2014 looks much better in my opinion.
The new car is superior in many ways, but if you get a good deal on an S197 that checks all the boxes on your want list, go for it.
At first glance those ratios are screaming for at least a 4.10 gear, My FRPP T5 with 2.95 first worked great with 4.10's in a fox body, 1.6 60ft on a 225 Yokohama street tire. 13.9s 1/4 on a stock motor.
The wrench light is different than the regular check engine light, it usually indicates an issue with the drive by wire, or electronic throttle body.
Usually, the fault will need to be seen twice to trip a code, but it may have stored one. You can just ask the dealership to check for codes, if...
ugh.
I Can't believe I missed this whole thread, really sorry to hear about what happened.
It's a terrible feeling seeing something coming without having enough time to stop it.
Definitely put out some feelers on body shops, finding a good one is very hard these days, insurance companies...
Ecoboosts have a good track record with producing amazing torque so far, It will be exciting to see what this car is capable of doing.
I'm really looking forward to driving one, and hoping the trans and drivetrain will be built to hold up to the cars capabilities.
Ahh, ok. Looks like there's some real options in the Ford tuning market now, at least between SCT, HPtuners and Delta Force.
How much nitrous do you plan on running?
Looking forward to seeing what it can do.
it's fun to speculate on these sorts of things, but I'm sure most of us understand that the reality is a "wait and see" situation.
Someone will snatch one up and strap a blower to it, how it responds should be interesting. I'm sure we will see just how tough the internals are in short order...
I'm a little skeptical about how much of the rear window will be obscured by that wing, I wouldn't want it blocking my rear view mirror.
I agree that the brace is either tweaking the down force or trying to quell a vibration.
I don't really see it as an issue if a GT owner installs it on...
Removing the cap on a degas bottle is not dangerous at all, there is always air in the top of the bottle that will rush out as you loosen it and nobody gets hurt.
In the days of having an actual radiator cap, directly under the cap was pressurized hot coolant just waiting to convert to steam...
The Focus RS will be able to split front to rear, and also side to side in the rear, allowing the outside rear tire to push the car through a turn which is a very effective handling approach. From my knowledge, it's basically what NASCAR teams set their car up to do, and they handle pretty well...
I would take the RS over the ecoboost Mustang hands down on performance and capability, but the price point will likely line it up against a nice GT 5.0L. At that point, the decision gets difficult for me.
Toyotas "bold moves" ad campaign makes me cringe, it's absolute crap that they're trying...
