I've found the MT82 to be the most forgiving of going into first gear at speed of any manual transmission I've used in 40 uninterrupted years of driving stick. They usually seem to have a lockout after some MPH to keep you from dropping into first, but not the Mustang. Want to hit first gear...

It's part of the 301A/401A trim package. My 2018 has it.

When I wring it out on the first few gears (on the onramp, of course), I am not noticing anything that would call attention to the shift knob. I am bad and often rest my hand on the shifter, and it always vibrates some. Maybe I'd call it a "hum," I don't know - it's not like it ever shakes...

That's just it - it's not that the physical thing isn't happening, it's that a sensor may not be sensing it. I've been reminded that there isn't actually an oil temperature sensor; oil temp is kind of inferred from other sensors. But either way: there's a series of things that need to be true...

Yeah, it's never quite that simple.

Right now, you don't know what you don't know. It could be that your oil temp isn't coming up, or the oil temp sensor _did_ stop working, or... something else you didn't consider. That's why diagnostics will help.

Yep, sounds like a diagnostic is warranted then.

I enable LC to see when my oil temp has come up, nothing more. I notice it won't light (ever) when I'm in quiet exhaust mode, or drive mode is in rain/snow. But besides that, once it warms up enough to light LC, I know I can give it the beans.
