I have looked and the oil looks normal. It only has about 3000 miles on the current oil though so I don't know if it would be long enough or enough coolant to have the oil change color/consistency. I am going to change my oil tonight just to make sure and get an oil test done. I don't think the...
I noticed this and keep it up, It goes anywhere between 198 and 210 when it is up to temp. I am not sure if those are normal numbers, but I think they are. My engine temp gauge isn't running high or anything.
I am listening, but everyone is focusing on the smoke and not the chemical test. Plenty of people recommend this test and it showed a less-than-perfect result. Just saying its garbage is fine, but why are you saying it is garbage?
I would totally agree with you given that the resul
I would totally agree with you given that it were an isolated thing. As I have said, the smoke in conjunction with the chemical test is what worries me. I want to get a gas analyzer to test for hydrocarbons in the coolant reservoir, but those...
I called them and have it set up for a head gasket leak test. I am just worried they will blame the tune or something. If they do I will want to do the repair myself to save cost. Anyone have the instructions to change the head gasket if it comes to that?
No, I mean I have a moderate tune on it, can get up to 22.5 psi, but I don't usually gun it very often. No track time or anything like that. I just have read articles of the focus and the mustang ecoboost having head gasket problems.
You got me there, I am obsessive over it. I want this car to last for a long time and I want to know everything going on with it. Rather than just write it off though I thought to just get everyone's opinion on it.
What could be a reason the chemical test showed the result it did?
I thought it was normal too, but I had read about head gasket failures on the ecoboost engines, so I bought the chemical test. Im more concerned about the smoke + the chemical test rather than just the smoke.
It has been cold, but it is garage kept and the garage doesnt get that cold. Check the video out, this is my car this morning. I want to say the exhaust had a "sweet" smell but honestly I don't know what normal exhaust smells like to compare.
I have recently been seeing white smoke come out of my exhaust when I start my car in the morning. It is garage-kept. The car has been well maintained. I have a tune on it as well as an aftermarket cold air intake.
Due to the smoke, I purchased one of those chemical head gasket leak testers...
I see, thanks guys. I am just wanting to keep my car and turbo working and in good heath for the life of the car and don’t want to shorten the life by doing some bad practices.
I am looking around at how to care for my turbo, a lot of places say to let the car idle for a bit before shutting it down to allow oil to flow over the turbo bearing. I would think most modern cars would have a system in place that will keep the oil running for a while even when the car is...
