Somewhat of an aside, but what does everyone think about spin-on oil filter relocation plates? There should be room for a filter behind the airbox. Maybe safety wire one of the AN fittings off of the adapter plate to ensure no vibration issues. I think it'd serve two purposes: peace of mind...
I lurk in the Forced Induction sub here, and from what I've picked up the ECU is constantly varying timing advance/retard based on how happy the knock sensors are. Considering the high compression and rpm, you can assume theres knock present in the base tune but its within the acceptable limit...
There was a post on another forum where a guy dyno'd with Sunono 260 98 oct, and there was a fairly significant increase over normal pump gas. From memory peak gains weren't crazy (maybe 8 hp), but there was a large increase in area under curve in the mid-upper rpm range. Unfortunately you can't...
Awesome build! Looking forward to longer term updates.
Good to know that more development is going into this build than just trying to get max power. This kind of engineering work piques my interest. I know reliable power and oem fit/finish/quality are a big part of the whipple philosophy...
Its definitely not reassuring to see the biggest vendor and whipple proponent ghost their shop car like this. Is this a special forces operation or something? That car was run hard and boosted early on, so one could expect growing pains like driveability issues, smoked clutch etc. Going NC on...
How long has the 350 been boosted? Its good to see someone pushing the platform rather than an install thread followed by a disappearing act.
Yall should make some mid length headers that could be used for an NA setup and then later on have turbo adapters bolted on the collectors for low mount...
Ebay specials have now made an appearance too. Haha. They even have mass-damper mounts, just like the Kooks. Just speculation, but I doubt the welds would hold up to Voodoo vibration despite being Kooks clones
I agree with ANCHORMON. Top mount filter relocation would be the way to go. It would completely solve the problem and provide for clean oil changes.
I would like to see a 350-specific filter relocation kit, with preassembled hoses and an engine bay mount. Vendors get on it, and sign me up for...
M.E. here. I feel like I spent more time on cars, girls and the gym than on my classes.
Since this has become the official 350 forum Engineer thread, what did everybody do for their final projects? I was on the FSAE team
Can you post up what colors/process (i.e. cans/sprayer) you used? I like that look a lot, and there are so many color options now that it can be hard to sort through. Thanks!
Yeah no problem! At first i read it as you already having a blue filter. Tried to sneak edit that out before you read it.
I have light pressure brake squeal too. Ive tried to bed them, but still living with it. Only *problem* Im having so far is impulse control. Everything about this car is...
