The Armageddon kit looks nice, and i like that they designed it using 3d modeling software. That should help with fitment and qc. It seems like they do a ton of gm truck builds, but they have limited exposure for the s550 platform. Any firsthand experience with the new kits?

Is it possible to get a hand/tool on it with everything else installed.
Edit: just got the car up and answered my own question. Not gonna happen with ripping stuff apart. Good news though, mine appears flush, with no oil residue on the filter adapter around the sensor location.
Oil specs might be more sensitive on a car forum than religion or politics. @AirBusPilot glad to hear you have no consumption with the Motorcraft.
HTHS viscosity is a measure of viscosity under extreme conditions (i.e. bearing journals at 8k rpm). It's indicative of an oil's stability and its ability to protect against wear under these conditions. 5w20 and 5w50 have drastically different K viscosities and HTHS. The 5w20 may have been...
Thats part of the case for Redline. The ester base stock doesnt require as many additives to maintain its high viscosity index. Also it's very stable under high shear conditions (i.e. bearings).
If you look at the pictures, it requires removal of oem cats so definitely not CARB compliant. No S550 turbo system is CARB compliant, and only select superchargers will offer CARB legal status. It's not ideal though, as the cats will burn up eventually and could clog the exhaust wreaking havoc...
It's interesting, but I would like to see a tech data sheet. For basically the same price Amsoil and Redline both have 5w50. I don't think either are "certified" to be WSS-M2C931-C compliant, but they are definitely suitable for use and advertised for this spec. Both Amsoil and Redline have low...
Shelby's need some low mount love too! Really though, I think the benefits of a low mount turbo setup on this chassis are preferred by many.
What about some optional (nearly) equal-length tubular headers? Might as well upgrade if one already has to come off.
Seems like the same design principles as some other S550 brands - low mount, minimal hotside, oil scavenge pump, stock header mounting, etc.
The kicker... it's from the brand that will always deliver on promises, and has the most proven track record (in every sense of the phrase) of any...
I embraced the lifestyle of the stereotypical mustang owner. Loud exhaust, showing off, and questionable life decisions. My ego lives behind the wheel. Really though it's just a play on words; I'm not that obnoxious.
Are the Kooks 5.0 and GT350 headers essentially the same (maybe different gauge)? Jet Hot has their own set of headers for the 5.0 produced by Kooks. It's 409SS, ceramic coated, comes with O/R mid pipes, and has lifetime guarantee for $1150. Headers are pretty transformative in the sound...
Yeah i know mine has a green oring, but when searching the FT4Z-6730-A part number I found a mew oem plug picutred with a black oring. Just throwing out ideas. Is it close to that size?
Yeah i used the SS 5w20 in my GT before getting the Shelby. I just couldnt find a definite statement on the amsoil website about which base stock they use. I decided to run redline in the Shelby after comparing some specs. Sp far no consumption, but no track time either
