  1. Headers?

I'm booked in with Brenspeed in about 10 days for Kooks long tubes, off-road X-pipe & 93 octane tune. I'll let you guys know how that turns out. I'm looking more for torque gains across the rev range than a big top-end number to allow me to stay in 4th more.
  2. Gurney Flap

FYI, the OEM GT350/500 Gurney Flap is now available for around $112 online ! Also, for those who wonder, mine came with the screws needed. Part#: KR3Z-6344210-AB
  3. Dealer overfilled oil

Wow - I hadn't thought of that and I bet you are right. I'm going to do the next one myself.
  4. Looking For Rear Seat Delete Seat Belt Covers

I just put black Velchro over mine cut to size. If I had to do it again I would wrap them although the Velcro looks OK. I saw a car recently where the owner had used the dreaded Flex-Seal to fill the hole and smooth out the piece. He had sanded it smooth and it looked factory.
  5. Dealer overfilled oil

So an update... I did use the drain plug to remove 1 quart which got the level back to where it should be. Didn't have much trouble removing that small amount as I just backed the plug out V slowly until it began to come past it in a dribble and then was patient. For those worried about oil...
  6. Racing seat for big & tall guys so you can wear a helmet and be comfortable

For those who find themselves too tall to comfortably wear a helmet with stock seats, here was my solution... I bought the Sparco Pilot QRT racing seat - which is specifically for tall and "larger" guys. I am 6'3" and 225lbs with a 42" waist. I fit in the seat nicely. In my opinion you could...
  7. Snow square 295's VS All-Season 265f/275r

I have 255/40 & 275/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 3+ on SVE R350 wheels. If you go with the 265/40 you will need 10.5" wide front wheels. I'm in Northern IN so we see snow but this is not a daily driver so I stay away from snow/salt. I was happy with this combo - drove it for 1,500 miles last...
  8. Seat Lowering

The seat trick seems to have helped quite a bit. Maybe more than I initially thought. Having a harness is something I strongly recommend for taller guys as it prevents you from hitting your head/helmet on the roof so hard. My local track, Gingerman Raceway in Southeast MI is fortunately very...
  9. Seat Lowering

Good thinking! I have a very basic XXL open-face helmet model BF1-R88. My head is very long so I'm limited as to options but I will keep my eye out for one that helps.
  10. Success in orange peel reduction or removal?

I guess that I must be weird. I love to drive it but very rarely wash the car. My cars typically get washed twice a year (I do 40-50k) so orange peel isn't really a concern. Now of course, you made me look - the paint job on my DD 14 ex-police Interceptor Utility is a lot better! Oh well -...
  11. Seat Lowering

I was at the track for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago and found that I have to recline the seat waaay too far back to clear my helmet - so far in fact that I have to move the seat almost the whole way forward to be able to properly hold the steering wheel. Certainly not ideal. (Interlude...
  12. I think i am regretting Race Red due to Police breaking balls daily.

I haven't been stopped in 3,300 miles - but I have had 2 cops pull up alongside and yell compliments. By contrast, when I had my modified Crown Vic I got stopped at least twice a year just so they could look at it - never got a ticket though.
  13. Lowering driver seat

Just spent 2 hours at Gingerman Raceway in my 19. My car has the regular non-Recaros. With helmet I had to lean the seat so far back that I had to scoot it almost all the way forward until my knees hit the dash so I could properly reach the steering wheel. As it was, my helmet was touching...
  14. Steeda two point g trac brace...worth getting?

This is one of the worst written articles I have seen. They confuse vehicle wheelbase with track and make a number of confusing/misleading statements. Having said that, the advice is mostly good. One thing though - my 19 has never suffered from excessive tramlining - although I'm using the...
  15. Dealer overfilled oil

I had the local Ford dealer do the 1st oil change around 1,100 miles a month ago. Just checked the oil for the 1st time since and the level is about 4mm above the upper dipstick hole. Does anyone know how far above is a real issue? The car has done 800 miles since the oil change. The next...
  16. Watson 4-point rollbar, seat delete & harnesses installed

My son rides with me sometimes when we are just out in Southern Michigan - he will likely use the harness rather than the belt as otherwise you end up hitting hour head on the roof on waves in the country roads! (We are both well over 6'.)
  17. Watson 4-point rollbar, seat delete & harnesses installed

Hi all - I'm new here. This is my 1st thread. As many have, I'm sure, I spent some of my lock-down time on the car. I learned a few things about the process of installing the roll bar, seat delete and harnesses so thought that I would share them. I'm quite sure that most or all of the points...
  18. Feedback on some wheel/tire ideas.......

This was my post on the winter tire thread: I have the lmr.com wheels. SVE R350 black “Fits GT350/R” 2x10” & 2x11” $999.99 - Make sure that you get the ones that say "fits GT350/R". They go on perfect. I'm using Ford's recommendation as to tire sizes with 275/40ZR-19 Rear & 255/40ZR-19 Front...
  19. Winter Wheel/Tire Options For GT350R?

No - but they are on TireRack.
  20. Winter Wheel/Tire Options For GT350R?

Mine is not an R - and no, I won't drive in snow. The tires are all-seasons not snow tires. (I have an Interceptor Utility Ecoboost for snow.)
