Sounds like a grinding noise at low rpm. Sprung hubs will dampen it so you can't hear it but with a solid hub it can be noticeable. I believe it has to go with the harmonics that are being transfered though but I'm sure you could google a better definition. I only learned about it after my...
My gear roll over was worse before I had it rebuilt. 1500rpm or less it was loud and I had a little chatter off the line but pretty minimal on that. I rebuilt it when my engine was out and the clutch still looked good easily could have run it a lot longer but glad I rebuilt it. No chatter now...
Evap can take a few hundred miles to clear. It also needs a gas full up and a cold start while the tank is between 1/4 and 3/4 full. At least I know those were parameters on my civic when I had an evap issue and it seems to help clear the mustang monitors quicker too.
For a DD I'd go lpxhd. I work it hard on the street and it has no issues launchjng or power shifting in the 48k miles I've used it boosted. I've never taken it to the track though so who knows how it would hold up there.
Early gen 3s seemed to have the most issues but they updated the shift forks in 19 I believe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the mt82s are a great trans but they aren't all bad. Seems like it's more if qc issues. Some hold up well and some shit the bed quick.
When I boosted I assumed the trans would be first to go based on everyone's attitude towards the mt82 but low and behold it gets whooped like a red headed step child every day and it's still kicking 6 years later. 100k miles, 8k shifts, limiter taps (occasionally) and a lot of 2nd gear drops at...
100k miles here, 52k boosted and I don't "hook" but I can modulate throttle and keep her straight as shit. Also, the stock mt82 is still holding up. Why boost if you won't use it? Thought my trans was going to be the first thing to go 3 years ago but still kicking! Plus it's a tt hit not the...
100% agree. These cars boosted with a manual feel outright amazing on the street. I run an lpxhd and I can't speak to it's track capabilities but it's perfect for the street. It's not harsh but never misses an 8k shift.
No offense guys but the ess crowd kinda acts like a bunch of jealous girl friends. I mean, turbo guys, whipple guys and other centri guys don't jump anyone's shit when they decide to use another brand but if anyone says they prefer something over ess it becomes a bitch fest. I mean how gay would...
When I ran that set up at first it was just a Cai and the borla stype. Stock other than that. I switched it up after adding the turbos for flow. The borla resonator is only 2.5" through the middle and I needed full 3". It was louder than stock with a deep sound from the hpipe. Good rumble at...
The borla resonator will quiet it down some but it still has a nice deep muscle car sound. I would have kept that set up if the resonator flowed enough air for my turbos. It was my favorite sound of the 4 or 5 set ups I've tried.
Not a whipple car but I daily my mt82 with twins. It looks stock and drives like stock until I have a reason to go heavy on the right foot. Then all hell breaks loose and the fun begins.
Middle class is tired of being held down. I see this as the first of many. Prayer go out to his family but people are sick of having no way to get ahead. I'll be surprised if it doesn't happen again.
Honest answer is maybe??? Coyotes are stout so they handle abuse well but anything can happen. If you can't afford to replace it you could be in trouble. Again, stout engines with great capabilities but not invincible.
I thought it was 120k but didn't want to put out bad info! And im too lazy to Google for research lol. Crazy that was your experience, my uncles was the complete opposite. It's been awhile but I want to say he was at 126,xxx? No questions asked. Honestly my Hyundai warranty work story sucked...
