Allegedly, the new RE71RZ is more durable than the outgoing RS version. I have used the RE71RS for 3 seasons and have been impressed. Ya, tires and oil aren't cheap when it comes to HPDE. One more reason I almost prefer to track my GTI over my Mach 1.

Another vote for doing it the right way and suggest a Mach 1. Definitely get one with the handling package. The oil, trans, and diff coolers are game changers for track use. And if the 5.0 does grenade, the cost is a bit more palatable than the voodoo. Also, the Mach 1 HP's just look sexy...

Every C8 driver at the track I go to has echoed this statement. Too many safety features that can not be fully disabled and makes it a numb experience.
