I know it's crazy. Been searching high and low and decided to stop being stupid, and just look at winter tyres. Most perform perfectly well in dry or wet roads as well as snow. Been reading a lot of reviews this evening.
I can get the Hankook Winter i*cept evo3 tyre in the standard sizes, and...
Reason I picked 255/35/20 and 315/35/20 is that I can get a tyre in that sizing. And it looks like it keeps the correct % values mentioned earlier by @MAGS1 . Or hjave I misunderstood? Quite possible lol.
Oh so I can't keep the staggered fitment? I can't get a decent All Season in that size...
It looks like going to a 20" wheel might work. Would this be acceptable / safe to use? I'm not going to crash wildly or upset the handling with these sizes? 😁 Going to 255/35/20 and 315/35/20 means I could fit Vredestein Quatrac Pro tyres (which I've had experience with before on other...
Thanks all for the help. Yeah so stock size, there just isn't much choice.
Bridgestone Weather Control A005 Evo which comes last out of 15 tyres in this review here.
Conti AllSeason Contact (as @shogun32 suggests) which seems like a generally "OK" all rounder in this review here.
Being...
Thanks! Yeah I'd need to pop these on a spare set of wheels which I hadn't looked into yet. I see, so a set of 18" alloys would help negate the higher tyre.
Hey all
Just looking at all season tyre choices for standard UK fitment - 255/40/19 and 275/40/19. The choice is pretty dire.
Having a fiddle around the sizing filters online, it would appear that a 55 profile in those sizes is the sweet spot.
My GT isn't lowered and doesn't have any...
@DFB5.0 any tips on how to best clean green mold from the felt window strip thingys? Just noticed it today! I was just going to try a soft nail brush and some warm soapy water. But I wondered if something like 303 multi-surface cleaner might be better instead of introducing more moisture?
Thank you for the tip on magic eraser. I have some marks on drivers door, which various interior cleaners with a soft bristle brush haven't fully removed. So I'll give that a try. Pet hate people scuffing the doors. Doesn't help they are so long so you have to open them wide. No squeezing out of...
@MCS could it potentially not be the tune (I think some may have mentioend that). Could it be as simple as a sensor disconnected or perhaps a leak where something has nipped or not seated fully? Maybes a question to ask them. 🤔 I had an old car once that would hunt for revs (not like yours) as...
You guys have been great helping me out with parts @beefcake recently. And customer service has been top notch! Couldn't be happier. Jake is helping me out with some other bits as I type this. It is a shame to read this but sounds like you're doing the right thing. :like:
I was out in the car on Sunday for an hour and a half, town and motorway driving — I was doing the latest sync and maps update from cyanlabs. Various gears and rpm ranges. I don't know if there is any drone or not. I certainly didn't get back in afterwards thinking, man that drone was annoying...
Missing Vortech parts came start of the week. Yey! Also received oil filter so I can finally do the oil change however it is damaged slightly. Superficial? Or would you not risk using it? The rest of the filter looks fine.
My replacement discs and pads should be here by end of next month.
Similar to your issue Graham. Discs are badly grooved and pitted. Been like that since I bought the car (second hand). It cost me £786 to get new EBC USR slotted rotors and EBC Bluestuff NDX pads all round.
.
If...
Sounds like you're having as much fun as I am. Vortech have finally dispatched my missing items almost 3 weeks since I reported it. 😣 Should receive them Tuesday. By which time hopefully you'll be enjoying your motor. 😁
Yeah you can use it no worries. I agree as I was wiping underneath the other day with some anti grime wipes and yeah they are bare aluminium. I take it when you say rear arms do you mean the bit where the springs sit in?
