The Steeda rear IRS braces are by far the most noticeable improvement made to my GT and I have IRS alignment, springs, shocks, struts, camber plates, 2 point G-trac brace and strut tower brace. It really tightens up that floaty rear end.
Thank you for the response, I would be interested in additional testing that takes place. I am in the process of building an NA street legal to to compete in the 10ās, currently most of the $$$$ so far have gone towards the suspension, as you probably know is the weak link with s550 platform.
These all look like very high quality throttle bodies, my big question is there any proven performance with the 90mm throttle body on a gen3 coyote tuned na car with a 114mm cai, and being that the car is previously tuned to allow more air flow with a 114 maf would additional tuning be needed?
That is a great slip for a first run down the 1320. My first time I had a good friend (NHRA competitor) coach me thru. Easy way to fix your reaction time, go on the last yellow bulb, my average reaction is .20, the guy who coached me has a daughter that competes now and she averages a .02. Just...
I would agree with MAGS1, I just put ECS02ās on 2 months ago. So far my favorite tire yet, not to mention the 30k tread life warranty if running squared. Just keep in mind you can not drive below 45 degrees or it will void the tire warranty.
I believe a battery tender is what is recommended, not sure of what brand works best, unfortunately when I did my tune download I did not have one and the tuner recommended to hook jumper cables to our Cherokee and leave it running until the download was complete. That did work just fine.
My tune is great, canāt imagine going back, the only problem I had was during the download process (due to a weak battery). There are a lot of really reputable tunes and tuners out there, it seems the morale of the story here is to ALWAYS use battery support when downloading your tune.
Yes, I found that out the hard way, but many do it without one. I think it depends on how strong your battery is at the time and how long the tune takes to download.
Are you 100% your tune downloaded properly, I had this issue because my battery was too weak, but the device (SCT X4) acted like the tune downloaded, drove it and it threw 2 codes related to afr (running lean) due to the 114mn cai. Where did you get your tune? Long story short, I had to hook my...
Itās good to see you are doing the irs alignment, but the #1 suspension upgrade to mine was the steeda irs brace, it really ties the chassis and unibody together, there is a lot of slop there and springs, shocks and struts do not correct that sloppy rear end.
I definitely would do what ever possible to retain as much low end torque as possible, from everything I have read and seen, the power gains are all in the very high rpm range. My opinion, not worth the $$$$. I am sure there are plenty who would disagree, but my last 2 rides were a 392 Charger...
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride! There are quite a few FL members here including myself. Your question is very loaded, I would recommend a forum search for mods you are considering. I know this may sound silly but I would highly suggest starting with the suspension, that is by...
Both, prior to it dying I was having issues with door locks, battery conservation messages, etc, then I tried to download a tune and that completely killed it, tried to charge it since it was only a year old and that was the final nail in the coffin. Ford obviously uses garbage batteries in...
I would agree with that, before I did my IRS alignment, braces, shocks/struts and tune, I ran full drag mode with TC/AT off and it almost put me in the wall from 2nd to 3rd gear. There was 0 nanny interference on that run, that is the one and only time at the drag strip I almost lost control of...
I wasnāt spinning when I had traction control off, I was doing 86mph at the 1/8 at 7.9, already hit third and then it cut my timing, maybe I hit the limiter, not sure wasnāt watching my tach and the damn helmet muffles the motor so much I couldnāt tell. I have extreme contactsport2ās and they...
Exactly, that has happened to me multiple times. I didnāt have these issues with my 392 or SS1LE š£, I guess the only real solution is some 305 drag radials and up the octane by at least 2-4 just to make sure Iām no leaning out in the upper rpm range.
I did not on the run that I was questioning because I'm pretty sure I didn't break traction at 86mph after I already hit 3rd, but I do know how to turn off TC and Advance Trac on the TC toggle.
I agree, that is what I was thinking when I left the track yesterday. The current tires are Extreme Contactsport2's which hook much better than the factory trash. I ran 305's on my 392 and SS and would hook pretty good with those, but definitely time for some drag radials.
