I was in the mountains recently and the driveway where we were staying was at least a good 30 degree angle. I actually found that hill assist worked quite well. I did it by accident the first time and realized it was holding for longer than normal so I tested it again and sat there for almost a...
Agreed. I've said it before but with my mod I have no heating issues anymore and the back does get cool. It remains cools as long as I keep it running and I have ran it for two hours straight. Still not as cool as the bottom but I find it to be sufficient.
Now I get to remove it so they can...
It does make a difference. I've had my mod on for a few months. It's posted in here many pages back. Driver seat no longer heats up and you can feel coolness on the seat continuously.
It's hard to tell from the picture but I think that is an entirely different peltier unit. The instructions do say install the new blower motor.
Glad to see some progress. Maybe by next summer ours will be fixed.
I don't have an update but I'm taking mine in for the recall in two weeks. Will have them look at this issue. This issue is so annoying I'm telling them to figure out at least one part to replace. It really sucks to reach for the handle and worry that they are going to go bonkers. I'm not...
Same thing happened to me. Only received one initial call. I tried calling two separate times and got voicemail. Received an email three weeks later stating that they have tried to call me several times. I received only one call.... replied to the email with all sorts of info from this thread...
Yeah, when the weather cools down this winter we will all be talking about how great they work. Mine worked great last November when I bought the car. I ran them several times the first few weeks I bought the car. It was in the 50s or 60s at that time...

This happened to me a few months ago. I thought my car cover caused it. I was able to glue the clip back together and haven't had an issue since. It seems to only snap in place.

Took a 2 hour drive today with my mod in place and it chilled the entire time. Even with the improved version it still seems to concentrate on the upper parts of the seat. I think the air is just taking the path of least resistance. Never felt it warming up and at a certain point it was close...
So here is my upgraded mod made out of plastic!
I purchased the sheets from amazon for $10.00. I only built the driver's side but it would take both sheets to build two. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBWNUR0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
I removed the unit from...
If you didn't know it was a truck forum it reads just like our issue. Check out post 612 and the thermal imaging of the seat. http://www.f150forum.com/f118/cooling-seats-your-seat-backs-working-properly-304154/index62/#post4241107
and post 42!!! The same damn part@...
I ordered two sheets of hard black plastic off of amazon for $10. 12" x 12" x 1/16". I read that it was a good size to shape once its heated up.
The way I see it I will make a template out of cardboard to determine all the cuts and bends. Might even attempt to shape it in a circle. Cut where...
From what I saw, when its trapped inside the seat it is basically blowing hot air across the both the cool and hot side. So the longer you run it, the hot side only gets hotter and then it just overpowers the cool side because all it is doing is recirculating that hot air.
When I was able to...
^yes the air blows across both sides at the same time. The air is cooler out the exhaust while not in the seat.
The air was also cooler out the exhaust when I had the mod installed.

FeedTheNeed, here is the info I promised about a week ago for you to update the initial post. I never got around to it and remembered today after realizing my mod was no longer working. The seatbacks still get hot enough for the duct tape to peel right off! I'm about to order some plastic sheets...
