  1. Cooled seats not cooling

I suspect that as summer warms up there will be others complaining. My car temp was 93 degrees after work! I looked at it for a few minutes today and discovered something else. Between the back of the seat and a thin fabric layer there is a sheet of plastic. At the top of the plastic there...
  2. Cooled seats not cooling

The air does seem to be trapped. If there is any escaping the back, it can't be felt. I did feel the fan kick on when the heat is selected but it was only low when I tested. Switching it back to cool and you can feel it kick up to that third speed. I could be wrong about there being two...
  3. Cooled seats not cooling

If they are suppose to only cool the lumbar section then they are installed in the wrong location. The lumbar is just below the large red box.
  4. Cooled seats not cooling

the air is very light in the large square even on high. I had to get my hand wet to determine the entire area.

  6. Cooled seats not cooling

The duct is roughly the small square. The large square is where I felt air.
  7. Cooled seats not cooling

The rubber duct is very warm to the touch even after a few minutes. I've got some things to do this morning but I'm up for cutting those two tie wraps that hold the duct. I have some replacements. Curious to see why it is so warm. maybe just wrapping the duct to insulate it from the heat would...
  8. Cooled seats not cooling

The rubber duct is pointed towards the front of the seat. It is why you feel some air blowing through the front. I could actually get a finger in front of the duct and there is a hard plastic insert where the air escapes. you can see it in the picture. It's flat around the edges but shaped like...
  9. Cooled seats not cooling

It seems that there is more air flowing over the heat sink side when it is set to cool. If that air flow was actually over the cool side I suspect we would have cooler seats. Maybe the lower unit is dispersing the air more evenly between both plates?
  10. Cooled seats not cooling

It is extremely soft. I couldn't really tell if it was getting squashed. It's only held on by tie wraps. I got a fairly decent pic. Would have posted it earlier but apparently my new phone is saving the files too large. Maybe that is the foam Free Agent is stalking about?
  11. Electric mirror gremlins

Yes I have seen this problem. Happens right after unlocking the doors. The mirror moves all the way out and starts popping like it wants to keep going out but can't. I was actually at the dealership today but this problem so rarely happens. He ran some tests but there were no error codes. I've...
  12. Cooled seats not cooling

Not really sure what Styrofoam piece you are talking about. I was able to reach around the end of the flexible outlet tube and it is a hard plastic vent and then a small padding. I still think it's strange there is so much air within the back of the seat. If all that air actually made it to the...
  13. Cooled seats not cooling

Unplugging that plug causes both to not work. He did say that he thought that the climate control module would shut one off if the other failed.
  14. Cooled seats not cooling

It's actually two separate connections at the fan assembly. We didn't even try to unplug them. It's really tough just getting a good view of the fan. The only way I got the picture was because my phone has that voice activation. Visualize me practically on my head holding the phone inside the...
  15. Cooled seats not cooling

It went about as well as I expected. The service manager that greets you at the beginning made comments like "the backs aren't suppose to cool" but then said "I don't actually work on the cars" when I countered his comment with "why do they have the exact same wiring?" To sum up what the...
  16. Cooled seats not cooling

Ok... what I meant was the fan running at their max speed and set to feet. temp is also still at its max and says LO. The only reason I tested it this way yesterday is because the MAX AC button blows right onto the seat fronts which makes it more difficult to feel the back heating up. Unless...
  17. Cooled seats not cooling

I will definitely mention it if they don't have any answers. I looked at it one more time to see if I missed seeing a place where it is venting. I ran it again and I'm already thinking of taking back what I just said about not getting enough air as the only cause. I think it is also just...
  18. Cooled seats not cooling

I've gone as far as I could go with it at this point. I'm not able to get a better view without messing with the fasteners that are holding the leather tight. I doubt it gets fixed tomorrow. I just want to go in and get it recorded. I'm not going in and accepting "that is how it should work"...
  19. Cooled seats not cooling

Yes i had max and the foot vents selected. It only helped the bottoms. The back seat has almost no gaps to get that air.
  20. Cooled seats not cooling

So what you are really saying is that you don't understand how a digital infrared thermometer works? They are actually extremely accurate at measuring temps in this way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrared_thermometer Yours works fine, great! Many other people seem to agree that it's not...
