So.... The Procharger issues were only after hard shifts. I would get 10 degrees of knock that would only clear if I let off the throttle. But with that said here is what I Noticed -
The Procharger had some serious surging at 3000 RPM. Like hard enough to break your dang neck. Spent several...
Not sure what this was supposed to mean... but the issue was the Procharger HO belt hitting the driver side head. I installed the setup on the guy I sold it too and filed the area it was hitting on mine down and he has zero issues. Further more installed the whipple kit all on my own with zero...
So... I recently ditched my ProCharger setup after fighting for almost two months to find false knock. After a few weeks of driving around with a slow car I got the itch to get boost again and finally pulled the trigger on a Stage 2 Whipple Kit from Lethal Performance. I got everything installed...
Just a quick followup. Got an email back from John as follows:
But Justin said -
When the nGauge first locks to the vehicle, it pulls what’s in the PCM and saves it as <VIN>.stk. This is the only file that will work for Tuning>Load Stock.
The stockfileXX.stk files are generated by...
Yeah same here. I think the VIN named one is made when you do that first flash to custom and it does the first stock save. The ones named STOCK are done when you force the read I think.
John Nardi from Lund said he will get the guys to make a stock file for me off my VIN so I think I'm OK...
The guys at LUND are saying its the file thats labeled "stock.stk" but I know for a fact I saved a second stock file by accident when I had some issues with a CEL. Shrug.
Thanks for the response. I was pretty sure the vin numbered file was right as several videos on how to return car to stock showed them using the vin file. :)
Hey All!
Have my Whipple kit coming in next week and need to return my car to the stock tune before loading the Whipple provided tune. I remember at some point telling my nGauge to read the car again which saved a new stock tune file that was really a pro-charger tune (I had a CEL that I was...
I did not realize this thread was still going. I got so pissed off with the kit I pulled it off the car and sold it like some of y'all did. Glad to see I was not the only one.
I actually found another post where guys with early 2015 cars have bushings that are only threaded half way!
How are you going to get the BMR hardware? I thought about just calling them and asking if they would sell it to me vs me trying to hunt around for it.
Hey guys,
Did a bunch of part installs yesterday and ran into a little issue. While installing the front insert, I stripped the threads that hold the insert inside the OE bushing. The smaller bolt that goes through the Diff into the OE bushing is just fine as I was able to get the torque wrench...
Lund showed me in the logs where I had some fueling issues too that were most likely BAP related. I haven't decided on a move forward just yet, but I may hold on to the setup and do a fuel system once funds permit and give it another try.
Doesn't feel like the boost did (when 10 degrees of timing wasn't being pulled) but it's still fun. Did 47 lbs injectors and OPGs so I'm reving the hell out it.
Left the GT350 mani and swapped to e85. Zero knock anywhere.
To be clear things that were tried:
All new pullies
New belt tensioner with 25 percent more tension
BAP swap
3 new tanks of 93 and a can of octanium
Don't have headers
Magnaflow cat back and all connection in exhaust checked for...
