GM managed to put a TR6060 in the SS without an issue.
The GT350 is in a weird place with pricing. I do think it's one of the last great NA V8 offerings. But for the big HP guys, a ZL1 is in the same price range. Or a GT + FI will net 600-800hp pretty easily. For track, a PP2 or SS 1LE...
Everyone (well, most people I hope) is expecting the GT500 to beat both the ZL1 and C8 in the 1/4. No medical monitoring needed there. I expect it to go back and forth with the ZL1 on the track. Long straights? GT500. Tighter track? ZL1. No match for the C8 on track, unless it's an oval...
The thing is.. the C8 isn't crazy money. If it was starting at 85-90k this wouldn't be much of a discussion. You can option up a new Mustang or Camaro to 50-55K.
How will your SVO fair on a road course against the C8? Not so great, I'd bet. Vette never has and never will be a 1/4 mile...
Coming from the Vette guys.. so take it with a grain of salt. If a 100hz logger can't catch the shift it would mean faster than 10ms.. doubtful but who knows. Isn't Porsche PDK claimed at 80ms or so?
For most it wouldn't make sense. But if it's going to be tracked it's a no-brainer add-on...
Front is way high in that pic.. Looks like a screen shot as the car was launching? Or they left the front lift up?
I mostly like the design, but I do think the wheels are too small. Not sure if sticking with the staggered 19/20" setup was the right thing to do.
Youtuber LethalCamaro is a big dude 6'5" or something - got to sit in the C8 at his dealer. Said he also had the dash issue with the C7, but plenty of room in the C8. There's a vid up on his channel.
Lot more freedom with the dash / footwells when you don't have to accommodate a V8 stuffed...
With the time that they never published?

A very experienced driver, I'm sure, but not a professional.
Tune wasn't available to the public, so they didn't publish the time...

More rumors for the rumor mill. They're saying FPC 5.5l V8 600+hp 8600 rpm
Is the 5.5l size just getting thrown around because that's the size they're limited to on the C7.R?
I think a big chunk of the gain on the LT2 was from the intake manifold, much more room to play with on the C8. Tick performance did a back to back dyno, first with a stock LT1 and then swapped a MSD intake and 95mm throttle body, gained 26rwhp. All on the stock tune with nothing else changed...
No one is comparing a Mustang GT to the Corvette. They're comparing the Shelby GT350 / GT500. It's the closest thing Ford has for comparison, and only for the base or Z51 models. Ford has nothing to even compare with the Z06 / ZR1
I had an '88, with a Quad 4 swap. Yeah, the Quad 4 had a bad rap but it was a 180hp DOHC 4 banger in the 90's. Full poly bushings in the suspension, lowered.. it was a fun car. Miss that thing, but it was rear ended while parked on the street. Got it fixed but it just never drove the same...
If I remember right, it was the least expensive car (even at 75k) to come with carbon ceramic brakes. In 2014 carbon ceramics were still a $10-15000 option on most cars.
LT1 doesn't need injectors to run e85. e85 and a tune seems to net around 20-30whp. Mild bolt ons / e85 / tune Camaro's are usually in the 460-480whp and tq range. Even an all out N/A build is fine on the stock injectors. I think most tuners bump the rev limiter up to 7000.
It's when you...
You do know the the C7 vette and C6 Camaro both use the LT1 and LT4, right? Figured that was fairly common knowledge.
Could you point me to someone who has actually had an issue with this in a vette or camaro? I'm well aware of the potential issue with DI and have done my own research on the...
