  1. Should I sell my Mustang and get a C7 Corvette ?

Haven't had a single issue with my LT1 on track. Also haven't heard of any issues with the DI system. Aren't the port injectors on the Coyote / Voodoo only used at idle/low rpm? Thought I heard that somewhere. The primary fuel for the Coyote / Voodoo is still the DI side. And if...
  2. First trip to the track - results & thoughts

TNIA can be a bit wild. One thing to remember is you can always pull through the pits if you have a bunch of cars stacked up behind you or are at the back of a long line. Sometimes it turns into a bunch of parade laps because only 1 or 2 cars can get by in a passing zone, or it's some dork in...
  3. Car and Driver Compares the 1LE to the PP2

It likely would have come out ahead or at least even on the factory tire. A few folks on the Cramro forum have run SC2's on their 1LE and reported no or very little change in lap times. The stock Goodyear is a very good tire. Swap the MT82 for a Tremec and that would get on my list for a 1LE...
  4. Car and Driver Compares the 1LE to the PP2

I was surprised that they said that. I noticed the tramlining right away, although it settled down a bit when I had the track alignment done (-2.4* front camber)
  5. Car and Driver Compares the 1LE to the PP2

The steering is anything but numb. If we're ever at the same track event again I'll let you take my 1LE out for a lap or two, if you promise to keep it on the track :D The PP2 is what happens when you throw big sticky tires and stiff suspension at a chassis that's not ready for it. Ford...
  6. 19 Mustang GT PP2 vs 18 Camaro SS 1LE Track Test (both on Cup 2's)

Throttle House didn't spend any money to swap the tires, the owner of the 1LE has a set of track wheels (extra set of stock 1LE wheels, not lightweight track wheels..) with the Cup 2's. Throttle House just worked with what they had, sounds like 1LE's are somewhat rare up in Canuckistan, so...
  7. Throttle House: PP2 vs 1LE

So what would you have won if you were 1 sec faster? Maybe you should have been in a Camaro SS 1LE if it's that big of a deal?
  8. Throttle House: PP2 vs 1LE

Less weight is inherent to the platform. Better brakes? Not really. They both get 6 pot brembos up front, 1LE guy did put some slotted rotors on but that doesn't make a difference in stopping power. I don't know about the Mustang rear brakes, Camaro get the fixed 4 pot brembos out back...
  9. Throttle House: PP2 vs 1LE

Eh.. he was also running 325's in the rear vs stock 305's.. although not sure how much that helped. They tend to understeer so wider tires up front would have been more of a benefit.
  10. Throttle House: PP2 vs 1LE

Yeah, they ran 3 whole hot laps of a just over 1 minute course! Without overheating! In 70*f temps! :D I think the PP2 overheating issue is a bit overblown, but they probably would have run into some issues if they hot lapped it for 15-20 minutes.
  11. GT350 vs 2004 Z06

Well, you're also dealing with a 15 year old cooling system. Didn't you have to add coolers to your GT350 anyways? That just, like, your opinion man, but at 15-20k more you'd think it'd be a little faster around a track :D
  12. Throttle House: PP2 vs 1LE

To save everyone the time.. they never actually take them on the track.
  13. GT350 Engine Refresh Time!

Never thought I'd say this to a man, but damn those are some nice curves
  14. GT350 vs 2004 Z06

I was surprised how many people were there, but the second and third sessions weren't too bad. I usually managed to get into an open spot and get 1 or 2 clean laps. BIR was in the plans for this year, but I ended up with an opportunity to go to Germany. The BIR money is going towards a rental...
  15. GT350 vs 2004 Z06

Actually the Roush went off track trying to stay in front of me.. could never get a clean run with the white Mustang but he was fast. While the exhaust valve issue is a real concern, it's just like any other enthusiast car that's had some sort of problem. Internet forums are full of issues...
  16. GT350 vs 2004 Z06

Nice. That was me in the loud black 1LE. Totally lucked out on the weather, I figured we'd be running most of it in the rain. Yeah I know about the exhaust valves.. figure about 2-3k to do the heads and it's good. Drive 'em all and see which one speaks to you the most.
  17. Rant time...what's the worst thing about your Mustang?

Well, the Camaro does have hood struts instead of a prop rod :D Those folks running over curbs are the ones who turn traction control off because they think they know better. ABS can do things that even the best driver can't, like apply the brake to individual wheels.
  18. GT350 vs 2004 Z06

I think the C6 Z06's are in a pretty sweet spot for price right now, upper 30's to low 40's for nice low mileage examples. Plus that LS7 is one hell of an engine. I think it's about as close to a future classic as you'll get with a Corvette. Yeah, the interior is dated but about any 'premium'...
  19. Who will swap for the new 7.3 V8!

C'mon, it'll drop right in. Then they'll plug all electronics in and it'll fire right up! Easy peasy
  20. traded it in!

Mine's had a few mods done.. got it with just under 90k and it's never left me stranded or even had a check engine light. But now it's getting to that point, everything is just a bit 'tired'. Thanks for the insight!
