I have the gen 5 whipple stage 2 with 150mm throttle body and id 1050x inj. Same issue, lund tuned too. Had injectors cleaned, new plugs and coils too, do you have catless lth? I'm kinda thinking it's just nature of the beast. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. So I just figured we'd have...
Thanks guys. I did a dry compression test. Mt digital gauge max out at 200psi and every cylinder was maxing it out so I called it good. Thanks for all the info. I need to quit being so paranoid. 😆
Last thing I noticed is this set of valves, seems like there knife edging. But I'm kinda thinking of just not even tearing into it over the winter and just drive it and build a forged shortblock over the summer while I'm enjoying the car for one more season
Thanks for all the help guys.
Yes gen 2. 60k miles. 35k on boost
I feel alittle better. That one scratch worries me alittle like it's down pretty deep in the middle vertically but doesn't go all the way up or down. I parked car for winter and was gonna do all new timing and opg and support and other mods. Just wasn't sure...
I pulled the plugs tonight on my whippled 2017. About 8k miles on the plugs. Noticed cylinder 7 had oil on threads only. And cylinder 4 had a tip on top of plug that was darker then others. I did a compression test all cylinders maxed out my tester at 200psi. Leakdown coming this week. Found...
That's what im hoping for. Also got new mls header gaskets and locking header bolts new bmr motor mounts and brackets and just got a new mgw race spec shifter today for a christmas present. So I plan on doing alot over the winter and Def. Gonna give Terry a call for that timing set.
Thanks for the help guys. Sorry I should have given more info about the car. 17' whipple gen 5 stage 2. Lth, catless mbrp street exhaust. Id1050x. Lund tuned. I've owned the car since last June. All mods already done. I started noticing the rattle a few months ago. Compression test good...
Hey guys. I noticed I have been getting a rattling above 3k at light to moderate throttle and doesn't seem to go away and have been setting off the knock sensors. Sounds like valvetrain to me. I ran a datalog today on way to work and noticed that my variable camshaft timing exhaust angle...
Parking it for the winter to put in new opg, and crank sprocket and some other things. I'll check them out. I do plan on replacing all chains and I'll get new ratcheting tensioners too. Thanks
The ticking is down low seems more noticeable on passenger side down low behind front tire. Solid rhythm tick that speeds up with rpms. Not the bbq tick. That's more sporadic sounding. It does throw the p0316 missire within 1st 1k revolutions. No other codes. I just chalked it up to lth with...
