  1. Better method for tightening strut nut

Well, sure, the window socket was my method before too. You can't achieve much torque with a standard 10mm box wrench and it will slip if it is a 12-point.
  2. Return starter for core charge or not?

When the time comes would you really go through the trouble of changing back to a known lame starter? Send it
  3. Poll: Is a GT500 an upgrade over a GT350?

What do I think? If I was trying to choose it would really come down to Total Cost of Ownership, including tracking the car. EDIT - Although the DCT is telepathic and would surely influence my decision.
  4. Better method for tightening strut nut

TLDR Use Crescent 13/16 spark plug socket, Capri 10mm 3/8 drive socket (on 3/8 extension slipped through the 13/16 socket), 7/8 crowsfoot, and torque wrench to tighten the strut nut to 60 ft-lb. See first two photos. Keep the crowsfoot at right angle with the torque wrench so that the torque...
  5. Getting OLD SUCKS!!!

Actually, I think we have no excuses because "we should know better by now."
  6. Indiana J&M camber plates

  10. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

PPF shop had trouble. Long story short - they replaced the stripes using knifeless tape method, and replaced the film a second time. All at no additional charge. Then I had the car ceramic coated by a private detailer college kid. Then put hood vents back on. Repair project complete. 🏆

  12. Who has a 10R80 10 speed auto they road race or HPDE? Longevity? Yr. Of manufacture?

My car was built Feb 2019. DD + track use (6-8 days per year). I don't have any trans problems or quirks. I'm lucky I guess. Fully stock, no TSB's implemented yet. Added second OEM cooler in series with primary one. Track temp runs ~208F. My Ford service manager will allow me to check in my...
  13. What did you do to your Mach 1 today

Ford Performance belongs on the door sill not the steering wheel. (Pretty foot courtesy of the wife. She has the prettiest feet ever, and no, I don't have a foot fettish.)
  14. Do NOT buy from ikon motorsports

Know why companies ask for your review? They want to keep it internal where they have control. Know why they are so quick to ask for your review? It's because you're more likely to be in a positive mood and it's before anything goes wrong. Wait a month and then post your experience on Google.
  15. Do NOT buy from ikon motorsports

Oh right, ebay listing. They have control of that. They can't take down a google review and it will hurt them more!
  16. Do NOT buy from ikon motorsports

Where did you post the review?
  17. Rear suspension questions

This is not precisely true. The bearings from the toe links are the same OD/ID but they are about 0.2" wider than the Ford Performance ones. It is a hassle to spread the forks to accommodate but it can be done.

  19. help with wheels

(Sigh) Wheel shopping ... Please take your time, even though it is exhausting. You get one good shot at this and you don't want any buyer's remorse. First, be very sure you want 20" over 19". Compare prices on wheels and tires. Even availability. Many of us (me included) think the 20's have...
