The shoulders show that neither low air pressure nor insufficient camber caused this. Otherwise the scrub area would reach farther down to the sidewall.
At Pitt Race a couple years ago, the track surface was so abrasive that I corded all 8 shoulders of the tires in a single weekend. And I had...
Hopefully. We shall see.
I realized that the notch was not large enough once I put the car on the ground and steered lock-to-lock. So I have simulated full steering and full suspension droop but not suspension compression.
Thanks.
The last thing Ford wants to change at the factory is the main unibody. They can change all sorts of other things, but they all basically install onto the stock unibody.
Imagine this photo without the doors, front fenders, or hood.
Although I had on hand the Steeda Strut Tower Hole Saw, I instead decided to cut in a notch just sufficient to clear the strut shaft. This turned out to be more work than using the hole saw instead. But I like how it looks.
First check was with loose plates for any clearance issues under the...
@jacknifetoaswan I am tardy to this thread, but if you like to research, then check out my thread
Review of Rear Camber Adjustment Kit (Steeda or J&M camber arm brackets)
You will find that it is easier (more controllable anyway) with the camber cam brackets, but it is a hassle for you or a...
Ordered new shift ball for my WMG auto shifter. Old one was getting grimy from track days.
Color match is excellent. They call it Grabber orange. And the color is solid throughout. Came with proper locknut. Well packed and fast service. Just have to stripe it. Probably seal it to fight the grime.
They absolutely do help, especially the fronts. I like the shape of the ZL1 guards best, but their method of attachment at the rear is lacking. I went DIY to copy the Rokblokz method in the back.
Once I went to 305 wide track tires, I also had the quarter panels PPF'd with Xpel kit #P0523FE.
This.
More of my opinion on this. Most people will just think "cool Mustang". The badges alone will help them identify which version, if they even care.
The iykyk crowd will recognize it's a Mach 1, even after stripes delete, for the reasons you stated here.
The big matte black hood decal...
OP, how do you plan to remove the graphics? If it was me, I would wait for a 90F+ sunny day to see if that is enough to not add any extra heat. Start with the rocker stripes.
I never cared for the Mach 1 graphics. I like the solid red much better.
If you tried to rotate your OEM wheels front-to-back, you would need a spacer in front to ensure tire-to-strut clearance. But the front wheels installed on the back would likely poke out from the fenders.
OTOH, if you bought a new set of four 275/40 tires, then your only advantage is that you...
Is parking recording important to you? If so you will need their HK4 power harness and two fuse taps. Been rocking this setup for years with no issues.
Mike, you really should be measuring at the top of the fender opening. It's a better way to compare, although I get that you are concerned about ground clearance (as am I).
When I had jack rails on my car I used the OEM bolts because they are Geomet (like galvanized). Not as shiny as plated steel that aftermarket companies supply, but they are more appropriate for the use. Who can see them under there anyway? I really like all the geomet fasteners Ford uses.
