Making the hoses DIY is no big deal. Get this and you will succeed easily. I like to terminate one end, screw it into place, then feed the hose to the other location. That way I can truly measure the perfect length. I will say that IR fittings and hose are very high quality and leak-proof.

Mine have never bent and I inspect them along with everything else while prepping for track day. I don't understand what causes them to bend for some and not others. I imagine a situation where one wheel hits a pothole hard.
