I just installed the Ford Track Handling pack and will be keeping an eye on those bolts for a while.
I didn't realize they would back out, so good info on this thread.
Got it, thank you.
I may take it in to a more experienced alignment shop and see how close they can get it. The guy claimed he couldn't reach the rear bolt to get it closer, which I thought was odd.
Got the track kit installed last weekend and really like the way it drives. It's flat as a pancake in the turns, and I don't feel that the ride is much stiffer, but the roads here in Idaho where I live are maintained very well with no potholes.
I took it down to get aligned yesterday, and the...
Great idea! Funny, I had a bearing press that I rented for the job (didn't use), so I had one of those but didn't think of that.
Awesome, and thank you.
Thanks for that!
Yep, almost $2k. The bigger issue was that just about everyone was sold out.
I got it from Beefcake for $1995, but they include free shipping. One of the other places I looked at wanted something like $360 shipping for freight. Beefcake used FedEx.
Nice.
For anyone doing this or a similar mod, I'd definitely recommend the Steeda alignment dowels. There's a lot of play down there and I could see that the bolt can go in the hole and the subframe/cradle could be off one way or another. They're pretty cheap.
I'd also recommend a good short...
I followed the instructions on a few YouTube videos from LMR and CJ Pony Parts (dropping the cradle instead of taking off the rear wheels, brakes and a number of extra parts that didn't need to come off).
The install was pretty easy, but I made a big mental mistake and had to wait for some of...
Great to hear about Wengerd. I've watched a number of vids from HPP and Zander13 that have raved about his tuning.
I'm going to use him when I add the ESS, and really look forward to the tranny tune.
I took my 2020 PP1 10R80 out to Firebird Raceway here in Idaho a few months ago to get a bone stock baseline. It made right around 400 rwhp stock, and ran a best of 12.543 @ 112.74 at 2650' elevation. it was around 69 degrees for my best run. Using the NHRA elevation calculator, that...
I tried it after researching the tick, and it either went away or got so quiet I couldn't hear it anymore.
I was so impressed I used it in a few older cars that had solid roller cams ('77 Dodge Ramcharger 440 and a '78 Chevy pickup with a 400), and they got a lot quieter as well.
Awesome.
Any issues with the clamps coming loose over time or leaking? I read one post where someone said they needed to tighten them occasionally, and eventually they got to the point where they were tightened as far as they could go and not tight enough.
I suppose that's time to buy new...
Car is a 2020, 10R80, PP1
The front is necked down, but I can't tell if the back is a slip fit or if it just butts up against the rear pipes.. If not, thinking about having an exhaust shop expand it to slip over the rear for a better seal.
The only install vid I could find online was one from...
My son was just about to join the Army (miss him) and I let him take the new-to-me Mustang for a drive with me in the passenger seat. I'd only had it for a few days at the time and didn't even know how to use the different settings or take traction control off yet.
We were coming down a local...
I know that with my 2020 10R80, the car shifts much harder in dragstrip mode than even sport mode. The first time I drove it in drag strip mode I felt like it was going to break the transmission. :cwl:
Obviously not, but I was amazed at how much harder it shifted.
