  1. FL 2087 update (interesting information)

Are owners NOT changing their oil because of this? Old/dirty oil and filter is a bigger problem than an superceded filter design. I will be using the 2062a in a few weeks rather than keep an old oil filter in the engine.
  2. What did you do to your GT350 today?

I paid it off, merry christmas to me.
  3. Damper mode--no detectable change

On my 19 I can tell no difference in damping between comfort and sport unless its a sharp hit. Ive even tried going over speed bumps in the parking lot to see, track is a noticeable change according to my back. Bigger change is in the throttle and steering.
  4. Alcantara dye?

With how clumsy I can be I really need to minimize my exposure to things that stain permanently. I still have ptsd of the first time I had to use shoe black.... then the first time I used dykem.... them the.... well you see the pattern.
  5. Alcantara dye?

I found that just searching for synthetic fabric dye, any idea how it holds up to UV fading?
  6. Alcantara dye?

Alcantara is a name brand trademark, so faux would be off brand stuff.
  7. Alcantara dye?

I installed the some faux alcantara pieces from redline a year ago and its faded noticeably from the black it was originally. Does anyone know of a dye to use on this that would get it back to black? Something brush on would be best as the pieces are glued in. In retrospect I should have just...
  8. Dealership service experience

Which is why it's important to find a good shop, a place with work environment that won't tolerate that kind of behavior and you can drop off the car and not worry. If they told you they didn't want to work on the car because you didn't buy it from them that is unfortunate but in socal there's...
  9. Dealership service experience

I wouldnt take my lawnmower to a quick lube place. Arrogant because they didnt return a call? Little harsh, I didnt wait for the oil change, dropped it off in the morning and went to work. Picked it up during my lunch. Also for a wait there appointment I would have had to wait a few weeks. I...
  10. Dealership service experience

Good to know, i know the service department and sales can be two very different experiences, so hopefully it's all run in a similafashion.n. If anyone is local to fullerton, ca I used Art at mcoy as my service writer.
  11. A heads up for us Cali owners on tuning... [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

heres my question. My understanding is that the Check number is based on ECU parameters. So an algorithm spits out a number based on your car build. If anything changes from this build it is mathematically a different number. Is this check number based on only the engine tuning or the overall...
  12. Dealership service experience

This being one of a few special cars I've owned I'm always nervous taking this kind of vehicle in for service. (Joy rides, overlooking special maintenance requirements, etc.) I didn't find a thread on dealer service experiences for shelbys, and to be honest this being my first domestic car I...
  13. Pulled over for/gotten a ticket for stock GT350/R exhaust?

Correct. Do people here really think Ford sells a car with an exhaust not legal in all 50 states?
  14. What the ….

When a dog eats a bee
  15. Gurney flap security

Don't worry, mine stays on the car too. I think it looks cool. If everything was supposed to be utilitarian I would be driving a prius. But yeah those torx bits won't stop anyone, like wheel locks or the club they just make you feel better. They sell those bits at every hardware store and yes...
  16. 2019 GT350 Engine Failure @ 2170 miles

Probably was damaged when putting the engine back in. The engine assembly comes out with the suspension and cross member from the bottom. Car is dropped down onto the assembly, didn't get it just right and smacked the plastic caps. Edit, I see this has been mentiond. What I get for just...
  17. Installed UPR Catch Can and CSS, plus Diode Dynamics LED interior lights and Lloyd's Mats

I have an older version apparently because I have most definitely dropped the the knob (much smaller) into the engine bay along with the washer and it gets trapped in the underbody tray. Then requires cursing along with tapping to find out where it is then followed by more cursing because the...
  18. Boosted 350's come on in!

I think the engine goes into limp mode at 290F 280 seems pretty normal to see at the track, but more power means more heat. Probably why the 500 has the vented hood.
  19. Grooved rotors

if thats the spec something is off, there's no way its still over new spec at 34mm with that lip and 60k miles on them. You can use a pair of washers to help if you dont have micrometers as the other guy suggested but I would try to borrow a pair of micrometers if you can or just pull the...
  20. Grooved rotors

you need a pair of micrometers instead of trying to guess with calipers.
