The factory rear seat delete will need to be modified. You have to drill two holes for the rear bars to pass through. You will also have to trim the front corners to clear around the main hoop. Watson includes some dimensional suggestions in the instructions to help with this. I suggest using...
I left the seat belt buckles installed with the sensor wire still attached. I placed some bubble wrap around the buckles to keep them from banging around. There are no clearance issues with the rear seat delete in place 👍. I've had the rear seat delete installed like this for about 4 months now...
The cage installed is about 55lbs.
As far as NASA goes, I don't think it is legal for WTW racing ( I think they want side bar protection) but is OK for HPDE and TT. I am not an expert on that, and don't do much with NASA so others likely know better. I do know that the tubing grade, diameter...
This has been a roughly 6 month waiting project (waiting 1 month for cage, 1 month for rear seat delete kit, 1 month for powder coat, 3 months for 2027 harness), but I finally installed my Watson cage this week. The ultimate goal was to be able to utilize a HANS/Harness system out on track, as I...
I actively track 2 stick Mustangs (a 2021 Mach 1 and a 2016 PP1 GT) along with a 2020 GT500. I also daily drove a stick 2011 PP GT for 10 years and it is now my weekend cruiser from time to time, so I am plenty familiar with how different each flavor of these cars feel and do have a preference...
Your logic is sound, it really sounds like the family F150 with a different Mustang (perhaps a Mach 1?) Would be a great compromise for your situation.
With that said (and this is just me) I would exhaust all options before giving up a car I have always wanted to own as you put it. I know...
You are probobly correct regarding the pigs comment...Ive literally never been so worked up over something so Its gonna take time to get over it.
With regards to why pulling over with paper plates - I truly have no idea. The only thing I can think of is fake paper plates have been a rampant...
I have a fun story to share - I used to have no issues with Police until earlier this year. For background - in order for your vehicle registration to be renewed in Texas (or Harris County at least), the vehicle must first pass an inspection and emissions test via OBD2 port within 90 days before...
Tell me about it. Got tired of dealing with the @$$holes at the Pasadena police department. They get themselves off on issuing front plate citations. Ask me how I know . It's a stonsho removable mount.
I have been using the Quickjack BL-7000EXT model extensively for the past year and it has worked flawlessly with the 500. Never felt sketchy or off balance...but it also looks like the EXT has a longer overall base.
Same kinda thing here! Our 500 has had 4 solid track days on it and my last pad measurement showed a hair over 9mm left...I knew pads on the GT/Mach 1 were 10mm thick when new and wasn't convinced the 500 pads had such minimal wear down.
For perspective, I am using up about 1-2mm of brake pad...
Hi All,
Does anyone happen to know what the new, unused brake pad material thickness of the OEM GT500 brake pad is (fronts in particular)? I failed to measure mine before the first track weekend and am trying to get an idea of what my mm burn rate is per track day on this car. Thanks!
I have been battling this issue after every track weekend - 99.9% of the time it is because pieces of tire rubber chunks from the track work its way into the crevasses of the fender lip where the fastener trim clip mounting holes stick out into the fender lining. Here is one of mine after I...
This is a great article and it is very accurate on just about all accounts. I can speak from experience regarding the CFTP GT500 vs. Cayman GT4. My last track event was in mid-October with the local PCA group. I brought our 20 CFTP GT500 out to this event and the three quickest car/driver...
Adding a little personal experience to the thread.
I did my own paint correction and ceramic coating on our Mach 1 with Carpro CQuartz 3.0. Obviously there is no need for paint correction on the decals or satin finished areas like the mirrors and spoiler. (Keep your clay bar away from the vinyl...
Hey all!
The supercharger wine is exaggerated in the video. I am running dual mics into a gopro camera. One mic is mounted in the trunk, the other is mounted near the battery box. You can still hear the wine in the cabin, but at probably half of the volume perceived in the recording. I was...
