  1. 1-2 Shift Grinding

I think you’ll like the difference the BG fluid makes. It’s still notchy in the really cold temps but better. Pausing a second between 1-2 and 2-3 helps as was suggested. The BG really shines when the trans warms up, much better shifts.
  2. 1-2 Shift Grinding

Switching to the BG gear oil helps a lot when warm and somewhat when cold. It doesn’t take it all away but it’s better than the oem lube
  3. K&N panel filter loose

The filter fits the lower housing with little side to side movement so I don’t think it’s getting pushed into the housing. Just a difference in the thickness of the sealing flange that makes it loose when you clIp the halves together. I did contact K&N and they were going to check into it.
  4. K&N panel filter loose

I thought I would try a K&N panel filter on my 17 GT based on the MotoIQ testing and years of using them on other vehicles. The problem I found is after installing it is the clips that hold the filter housing together barely clip at all. The filters gasket is much thinner than the oem filter...
  5. Renting a GT This friday to enjoy for the day, any tips to maximize experience?

Wear ear plugs so you don’t have to listen to all the plastic on dash creak and crackle.
  6. Issues for those with the base radio

Someone else on here suggested this and it’s been working for me. I use Spotify and had the same issues. Before I get to the car I open Spotify and play any song for a couple of seconds. I usually do this in the house before even going outside and it seems to connect every time.
  7. 2015-2017 Headlight

    There’s some on ebay
  8. Parts for sale!!

  9. Weighted shift knob

Started with emery cloth and progressed all the way to 1000 grit wet/dry paper.
  10. Weighted shift knob

What do you do when your knob doesn’t fit your hand properly? The stock knob is way too small for my 3XL hand so I started looking at the aftermarket companies. I checked Anarchy, Raceseng, Lathewerks etc. and found the Ashiko knob from Raceseng looked like something that might work. The price...
  11. Mysterious "Horn" sounding when stepping on brake pedal

My car did this weird thing twice in the last week.Heading to work in the morning, I go up to the car sitting in the garage and open the door, it beeps twice at me, key fob in pocket.I know a few of the reasons for the horn chirps but this has me puzzled. My neighbors probably don’t appreciate...
  12. MGW/Barton in the cold

    So true
  13. MGW/Barton in the cold

Agreed but not worth $500 to me at this time. The cold shifts are the thing that bothers me and a new shifter doesn’t seem to help that problem much.
  14. MGW/Barton in the cold

These are small things but annoying to me: Having to change the trans oil on a new car to make if functional Poor low beam lights, having to adjust headlights on a new car Creaks and crackles from the plastics in the dash area(every day annoyance) Rattling every time you close the...
  15. MGW/Barton in the cold

No, never drove one with the MGW. Everyone says how great they are. For me and my driving style (no track, no 7k shifts, old guy) the stock shifter is fine. I’m really not sure I’m keeping this car. i’ve Been buying new cars for 30 yrs and this one has a lot of little things that really annoy me.
  16. MGW/Barton in the cold

Thanks for the replies. As mediocre as the stock shifter is, I’m ok with it along with the BG fluid when warm. It’s been in the teens or less the last couple of weeks here and that 1-2, 2-3 shift is notchy until it warms up. Just yesterday it actually got near 40 and it was already better on...
  17. MGW/Barton in the cold

For you guys in the cold climates with aftermarket shifters, just wondering if you still get the poor shifting (notchy/nibbles) on those cold mornings.I changed my fluid to the BG and am ok with the stock shifter when the trans warms up. Seeing as the shifting does improve when warm, I’m...
  18. Too cold??

My car did the same thing again this morning with the _ _ _ F reading. It was about -6 before it happened.
  19. Too cold??

Thanks, just wondering if the negative temps were outside of the range of the sensor. Maybe it has a range of -10 to 110,don’t know. Seemed weird that it would just go Blank —-F like that.
  20. Too cold??

Has anyone seen their outside temp gauge go below -9 degrees?
